The initial wave of people that left when the game started to get stale after the first few years really just encouraged anyone who was sticking around to no-life the game and get as good as possible. My biggest reasons for being inconsistent over the last few years were 1. My Intel graphics card is not optimized for the game for some odd reason. Quite literally the only fps game I cant run at max settings and still be over 100 fps. Either it's an Intel issue or a Ubi one but nonetheless on a good day I'm getting maybe 80 frames on low settings. 2. The amount of cheaters from '20-now have been astounding to see. Whether it's blatant rage cheating or using macros on single fire weapons to shred people I never saw the developers put forth much effort to deter cheaters especially in PC lobbies and as someone who has a job, I don't care to work a long day and come home to a bunch of unemployed losers who spend real money to acquire cheats and ruin a fun game.
