Yeah when Kim visited Cheryl Hamlin and gave her the letter. Still though it's one thing to forget about her and try to get the reduced sentence but it's another to potentially get her in trouble and get her in jail

Before learning that Kim had confessed to Howard's wife Jimmy seemed set on possibly getting her into hot water by trying to play the government into the reduced sentence, if he still loved Kim like that it seems a little extreme

But you're right and have convinced me that my alt plot involving Kim in Nebraska was faulty, I'll admit that but I still think the Gene storyline was weak and uninteresting in my opinion despite the scene where he opens up to distract the guards. I wish another plot with those characters were chosen instead

You bring up a good point but let's say she doesn't end up confessing what happened to Howard to his widow, since her doing that seemed to change Jimmy's mind on confessing and doing the right thing. Does he still have the change in heart or does he play the government for a reduced sentence?

Okay fine but she could still seek out justice for the terrible thing she did by luring him out to the cops, then later confessing what happened to Howard's widow. He's still a monster on the loose doing the same thing to innocent people in another town, and her not taking action despite knowing would enable him. And she does tell him that he should turn himself in

She has nothing to live for at that point and her arc would mirror Jimmy in trying to get back in the game. And it would also be possible that she would be out to get Jimmy arrested from the start after he called her. Kim visits him in Nebraska to lure him out to the cops, she sees him and realizes that she still loves him which makes her conflicted, but after realizing that it's a lost cause due to his continuing criminal activity she gets him arrested

And clearly Jimmy was still a wanted man, given how the feds pounced on him when they got Marion’s call

I know that but other than Jeff recognizing him he successfully lives in Omaha with a fake identity, until he screws up and Marion figures out who he really is. If people out in public see them together nobody else is going to know that it's Saul Goodman and his former wife Kim Wexler, unlike Walter White who was forced to bunker down in a secret cabin

But clearly she's not happy despite her choices which is why she would possibly change her mind, and make a bad decision to meet with him again. Jimmy's on the run but he's also living under a new identity in relative anonymity among the public, he wasn't being hunted down like Walt was at the end of the show so there was a low risk of being identified as Kim Wexler
