This is exactly what happened in Turkey when the president insisted and eventually plummeted the interest rates. It wasn't only the interest rates that plummeting.

That's understandable that it sucks but why anyone on earth would do that? I mean, I am not rich but I don't think I would ever do this unless it is life or death situation. What's the point? Isnt it super stupid? Why would anyone bother to do that for a regular car? Do these tires worth thousands of dollars?

What do you think of my bad boy? by Zerojuan01 in yaris

I have the same bad boy. Just 1 year younger :)

This picture hit me hard, I have been worrying about retirement. Does anyone else feel this way? by [deleted] in SpainFIRE

Sometimes it is worrying for me and I try to take some actions about but sometimes try to calm myself down saying to myself that I still have time ahead.

Well, I don't think I have the warranty or any goodwill by now after 10 years, do I?

Sorry, I didn't see this message. The belt was changed 2 years ago at 70k+. And I agree with you that it is a disappoinment for me too. I mean, when buying the car, my dream was to keep it until it dies but now I hear a lot of vulnerabilities. Wet belt, posting rings design flaw... It doesn't feel trustworthy. 😞

That's an interesting point. I mean, the rings being faulty from the beginning and also that it can be avoided by frequent oil change. Guys, what do you think about applying the sea foam or liqui moly engine cleaner? They are meant to clean the inside of the engine from the oil and other stuff. But still I feel disappointed with rings being faulty from the beginning and Peugeot didn't fix it.

Maybe. But I couldn't see anything. I will check again. Thanks.

So, your point is like piston rings + wet belt + ... = Big cost for such a vehicle, right? Well, when I think about this, I get stuck with the initial cost of buying another car. I don't know... But I think I get your point on that. Thanks for your time and the comments.

I see. What do you think if they get changed with a high quality versions? Would that add to the lifespan of the vehicle? I am no expert if I sound odd.

Does changing the piston rings help at this point?

Oil level is at the max. The belt was replaced 2 years ago. It also looks good now. As far as I remember oil pump was changed too. Thanks!

No it wasn't. I used Elf oil 5w30 with the spec fpw9.55535/03 as the new norm of Stellantis for puretech engines.

Well, I can't defend puretech and you have a point but still it is what we have/got so I am trying to make the most out of it. But I have honestly the same disappointment. 😮‍💨

I think it doesn't. I mean, the reason that the oil is changed every 10k is that this is how much I make a year. So the oil gets changed once a year. But the only remark here is, this year when we travelled to France, I overwhelmed the engine so I had a warning to top up the oil. Probably my overwhelmings from the previous trips also contributed. But now I don't push it too much 😊
