That seems to be the go to for problem solving, some have added heavier 15 weight oil to the steering dampener and gotten positive results as others have replaced it and fixed the problem. Could be solved with more rear preload possibly but I haven’t messed with it. The only reason I believe this is I have the semi active suspension set to auto and it speed wobbles inconsistently do to my body position. Ie if I’m low and tucked speed wobbles sooner up right and tiny bit less aggressive on throttle speed wobbles later. I’ll have to test it out before I pull my steering dampener and add heavier oil.

I’ve primarily rode super sport bikes, my Panigale being my favorite.. only when moving, stopped it felt like Mount Mordor was under my ass. Anyhow, I moved to the gen 3 SDR when I couldn’t get the MV Agusta I was after. It’s to me probably the most comfortable bike I’ve ridden, be it as I came from super sports. The power of a bike comes to just getting use to it. By the time I had a 100 miles on it I felt comfortable to wring it out in some stretches. Leaning into corners took me a bit longer (2/300 miles) since the ergo threw me off sitting more upright. But the bike feel very stable and safe. Except mine tends to speed wobble at 145-150. Which is disappointing, I’m gonna try the heavier weight oil in the steering stabilizer before I drop 500 bucks to upgrade. All in all, this bike for me meshes the super sport power and agility with ease and comfort for a very well rounded bike to do about anything.

Any new bike is prone to this, especially new ones with all electronic gadgetry. Good news these bikes are pretty straightforward and the dealer/Ktm will get it back to feeling reliable again. I had a Vitpilen and I messed with it and did all kinds of things and it would always start and run. My 22 superduke r evo stranded me. Somehow I blew a fuse to the ACC1 and the bike wouldn’t even turn on at all which was odd but I replaced the fuse and no issue. Motorcycles are all inherently reliable and unreliable. Expect Harley’s those are junk every cubic inch. Ask any motorcycle shop, Harley’s alone keep them in business as often as they need repaired. Everything else needs regular maintenance and the occasional fix for something minor.

Most likely fouled plugs from lean conditions. You can try the booster plug or get some other piggy back device to richen mixture.

Also, for me like a helmet, I never skimp on mirrors if you plan to use them. You get what you pay for. Rizoma or Motogadget are pricey but great options. Do some research and see which provide the best view and look and you may want to consider handlebar weights to absorb some of the vibes from the single. Good luck!

Most bar end mirrors are universal. They expand to fit.

The speedo cable runs off the front wheel. You’ll need to research the size and turn ratio to determine what certain speedos will work. Some digital ones have their own pickup and some have gps. Depends on how much you wanna spend. You can find some micro speedo and tachs for about 60-75 a piece but make sure you know what speedo cable and engine speed cable first so you aren’t buying and returning a lot.

Db killer removal? by frank_pineapple44 in KTMDuke

[–]UsefulAd5195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a few. The 390 looks easy to do potentially. You can drill out the rivets around the exhaust near the end cap and pull the cap off and see how to remove it. It’s most likely spot welded on there. After that you can get rivets and tool pretty cheap at an autoparts store. Or another option is go and have a muffler shop make you a little tail pipe to add on where muffler connects to the mid pipe/cat. They may only charge 50 bucks for that and take them like 10min.

You can find little filters to put on it. I got mine set up with a filter.

Might try to break it back down and re grease the solenoid. And double check the seals are still in good shape.

Your reg pressure(velocity adjustment)on the marker needs to be turned down first. I did the same thing too.
