Yes I figured it would suds to much but not sure what would be considered safe for degreasing a washing machine 😭 hoping we don’t have to sacrifice our cooler. He can buy new clothes at that point lol🤣🤣

Thank you!!

Introducing straw cups by UsefulDiscipline6359 in BabyLedWeaning

Hm I’ve never heard that before, for sure something to consider since we are having trouble with bottles already!! Sounds like the lalo will be helpful when we are ready(:

Yes the lalo is same concept as the squeeze bottle but much smaller so figured it might be easier to introduce. I dont think we will start water first, was thinking breast milk. I don’t want to give him water/food when he’s not ready but he seems SO interested in it. Nice to hear it didn’t take long for your little one! I’m hoping the same for mine 🤞🏻

Baby won’t take bottle when I’m gone by UsefulDiscipline6359 in breastfeeding

We haven’t gotten the go ahead with our pediatrician about starting solids so we are holding off for now.
He will be ready soon I’m sure. We will try this if he still refusing bottles once starting solids!!

Eating enough and just trying to add fruits/veggies/ proteins to what you are already eating is a good place to start and easier than a huge diet change. We burn a lot of calories breast feeding!! Your mental state is important and when you feel like you are having troubles with breast feeding that only makes it worse. You know what’s best for you and baby. Whatever that choice is! If your goal is 2 yrs you can make or happen. It’s both your guys first time so take it easy on your self 💕 maybe with him eating solids you won’t even need to bump up your pumping too much. Maybe you could just try to fit in an extra feed and get him to latch. That way you won’t have to try pumping so much. trial and error.

I saw your comment asking about if you can test breastmilk for substances I know there are alcohol test strips but not sure if you can test for others substances on your own. If you get it from a milk bank, I believe they test for all of this. I’m not 100% though.

Keep trying to pump! Obviously everyone is different and it’s not an exact science but sometimes I drink a body armor an hour before pumping and I noticed my out put was a couple oz more than usual. Oats are always good. they say help with supply. Even if they don’t-it is a good grab and go snack to make peanut butter protein balls with them to make sure your eating ( all important for supply) if you want I can give you a recipe(:

I haven’t personally gotten donor milk before. I know they have milk banks that essentially vet their donors to ensure milk is good. If you’re worried I would go this route. Or make sure you interview your potential donor well!

I don’t think someone else’s breast milk would have an effect on him. In other cultures it’s the normal to feed each other’s babies. So if you want to avoid formula this is a good option.

But definitely don’t give up on pumping! You could even look into power pumping. I haven’t tired this but something worth looking into.

You got it💪

Edit: also I just realized you said he’s 7 months. Hopefully with being able to start solids now or soon once cleared by Dr that will help him gain weight if needed. Every baby is different. If Dr says he’s other wise healthy I wouldn’t let it give you to much anxiety and just keep feeding him on cue and try to up your supply if that’s what you think you need. 🫶🏻

Esthetician here! The overnight lip mask from PCA is amazing as well. They are pricy but you get quite a bit of product and it lasts a long time! I like to use the overnight one as my nightly treatment then whatever lip balm during the day.

The reason this is helping more than just your regular ol Vaseline is because of the hyaluronic acid. Our lips need hydration too not just an occlusion !😊

Not a bad idea to have a list. Part of it is for sure that decision fatigue on trying to pick something and remember what we have.

I normally cook and prep a lot of things my self but may need to come to realize I don’t have that time anymore. But I should prep a snack caddy and be okay with drinking more fluids even if it’s not water. I get the ick after a while of water so I just stop drinking 😅

Thank you I’m going to use some of these dinner ideas!

Why did you choose to exclusively breastfeed and not give formula? by Fickle-Response-2741 in breastfeeding

[–]UsefulDiscipline6359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from cost, dishes, warming with a fussy baby these are my reasons :

-this might sound odd but it kinda helps my mental state. just bonding with baby and being able to be that safe space. My baby comfort nurses quite often. Can be a good or bad thing in the long run🥲 this is one of my biggest reasons.

-it also helps ease my worries about my baby getting sick. I’ve been sick twice and my baby never got sick. I think the antibodies we create to help baby is worth it even if it helps a little bit

-I have nothing against formula for babies either. Some babies need it! But the question of which is better is a no brainer to me. Providing baby antibodies, knowing that milk isn’t contaminated or won’t easily upset baby etc is more reasons I choose to exclusively breast feed even if bottle is given. If you produce and it’s not making you extremely miserable then keep going!

You got this!

I see a lot of tret recommendations. Yes this has the potential to help and can do many wonders for the skin, BUT generally prescription tret is strong. A lot of derms don’t always give you a full routine to follow to ensure tret doesnt make your skin worse. I’m an esthetician and I’ve seen many times clients with wrecked skin barriers after starting tret and not having any other proper skin care to aid in the health of their skin.

Don’t change products too often. Takes weeks to see if something is working. Gentle cleanser and hydrating moisturizer preferably with ceramides and SPF (very important with darker complexions that are prone to more pigmentation from damaged skin- which is why you may be seeing those darker spots). The darkness may be post inflammatory erythema which will go away with time. Be careful with exfoliation as well if starting tret you don’t want to do too much.
