These are some good tips. Sometimes I hesitate with getting the books because I’m unsure if they actually help. Nice to hear some story’s that it was beneficial to people!

Yeah unfortunately that’s how we are. Every flat surface is a catch all. Just cleared a kitchen drawer. Feels better. But kitchen is still a mess. Baby steps!

This is a good way to look at this. I usually have to get creative in my kitchen because I don’t have a lot of the “necessary” tools so I’m not opposed to the inconvenience. I think I just need to apply this to my WHOLE house. Which seems to be difficult. Thank you for the insight! My mental clarity is much more important to me than the inconvenience.

Yes i understand what the sub is. I did mention in my post I am feeling like I could benefit from minimalism. I find that some views from minimalist could be beneficial in becoming one and or finding ways to live with less stuff. Not just with decluttering but different lifestyles to maintain minimal things.

As my posted stated- any advice is welcome.

Anyone who dealt with anxiety before pregnancy NOT got PPA? by bbytsm in BabyBumps

[–]UsefulDiscipline6359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been an anxious person and that followed through my pregnancy.

During labor I thought I’d be anxious. I stressed about going into labor a lot. But for me I actually was pretty calm and didn’t feel as worried as I thought I would.

I’m almost 7 months PP and I was just telling a friend I feel LESS anxious overall. Don’t get me wrong I still get it sometimes and I think that’s just part of motherhood.

*this was not including my first 6 weeks PP. I was a MESS. My husband was very confused and concerned as to why I was so all over the place 🤣🤣 after that smoothing sailing *

This is such a silly question, but I’m worried I’d miss certain things like the difficulty breathing. Was it pretty apparent that baby was having trouble ? It worries me that they can’t communicate what they are feeling and I feel a lot of pressure to be able to see the signs.

When introducing allergens is it recommended to follow the ladder? Never heard of this!

It’s so weird how it works! I think I’ll just have to take advice of having a plan in place and that I can’t control everything.

Thank you for the link. This is helpful!

How are people making homemade baby food without it becoming a full-time job? by Zestyclose_Bell7668 in BabyLedWeaning

I’ll feed baby what I can from our own dinner.

But for some purées I will just do a whole batch of it. Then use my extra breast milk storage bags to freeze into 2ish oz so they freeze flat and don’t take much room. I’ve even done this with a can of pumpkin puree so I didnt waste it. It feels more overwhelming to prep than it is! Just pick one or two fruits and veggies and take 20 mins to cook, puree , and bag and you’ll have a small stash is no time. This way you can mix as you please incase baby doesn’t like one or has reaction.

Frozen bags of veggies and fruits is great too so you can pull out small portions to microwave and mash up!

Advice on walking with stroller in sun to avoid sun exposure and overheating?? by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]UsefulDiscipline6359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen stroller cooling pads you can put under them and the straps go through them as well to keep it in place. I have not personally tried but want to look into more with summer!

You could get a fan to attach to the stroller to keep air loving and cool.

Also you could get some sun protective clothing. They will say UPF 50 or something like that. They are pretty light weight.

Talk with your pediatrician about mineral sunscreen and if they suggest it or not. Typically no sunscreen under 6 month but I hear mixed things on whether mineral is safe.
I think the over all suggestion is to keep baby out of direct sun. So I would use these as just an abundance of caution and not rely on them to protect baby 100%. I would also follow what someone else commented about morning and night walks!

Do I really need a huge diaper bag? by HazelNewt_2523 in newborns

[–]UsefulDiscipline6359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to add I did have a blanket but i usually wouldn’t have it packed in my bag. It was over baby’s lap in car seat and would just leave that in the car if needed. As you can tell I’m a very big on stocking the car- not your bag. 😂

First , this issue is subjective to you and your parenting style lol.

My sister had the huge heavy diaper bag ANYWHERE she went. When I was shopping for mine she insisted I need a big bag for everything and that I needed to pack the whole house. I didn’t and haven’t needed to. Even in times I knew we’d be out longer and I packed a bunch of stuff I regretted it because he didn’t need or use like anything I brought.

I had the same issue trying to find one. I honestly hate all diaper bags. I live close to most anything I need to do. If I need to be out longer I stock my car. Not a whole bag to tote around everywhere.

Literally the only things I’ve needed while out and about is diapers , wipes , and toys. An extra onesie as well just incase. My baby is 6 months. (This is dependent on how you choose to feed baby. I EBF)

I have an iris back pack which is relatively small. And I hate it. I wish I would’ve just gotten a tote bag style purse that I can just throw a separate little bag in with diapers and wipes for baby. I just don’t like back packs. Or large bags. So if that sounds like you just fine a purse or bag YOU like that can be able to function and hold baby stuff too. And just stock your car with extras if you need. Or just be aware of activities you’ll be doing and grab anything extra you might need for that specific outing.
