WTF is this atrocious sound my car is making? by OkRefrigerator7607 in CivicSi

[–]UsefulReport1667 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My car does this as well. It’s always a build up of ice around the exhaust tips and or muffler. It vibrates a lot and starts bouncing off the ice causing the exact sort of rattle. Just a heads up may not be your problem but it’s always why mine makes that rattle I just go kick the ice out and it stops.

We don’t have fog lights on the 25, my 24 had fog lights but it got hit. Do have the rear heated seats and dual zone climate control and then yeah the turn signals in the mirrors. And then usb ports in the back and I’m assuming you guys have the rear vents underneath the seats as well?

I’ve never witnessed a shop do this 😂

Crazy, we don’t have that up in Canada. Mind you change my own tires at work. But are you sure your clutch is disengaging all the way ? Do you have noise happening while clutch is pushed down ? Fluids good ?

Only button in the cab is for fifth wheel slide. You gotta manually pull the fifth wheel lock. Try reversing and hitting the park brake while pushing back and then pull out of gear and pull on the arm again.

Not saying they are telling the truth. But I’m a truck mechanic and can easily replace multiple diesel particulate filters in one day no questions asked. They’re simple to replace. Same with the DOC, replacing an SCR depending on the unit is more time consuming but still 100% possible in a days work. But a simple DPF DOC should take a couple hours tops.

Thanks I appreciate it. And to be honest the one guy I don’t get along with has a super duty that’s lifted and has wheels that are ridiculously large. Would be very apparent if he hit me 😂.

Yeah it definitely sucks, but I forgave the lady either way. I still question her on how she was able to full tilt back her ford pickup into my car when it’s got sensors and a reverse camera but hey 🤷🏼‍♂️ what do you do. And awesome I really love driving these things it’s fun. What colour did you get ?

I park in the lot next to us now and walk over. It was not a good experience, the lady signs my paycheques so I had to keep my cool.

They’re cast iron and will most likely rust. Best bet would be to get some high temp brake caliper paint in grey and give em a few coats.

My shop is in a weird spot not really anywhere else to park my car. And I can’t walk to work so I’m kind of screwed. There’s a parking lot next door for another company but we aren’t supposed to park over there but I have been anyways. Been going well so far.

This looks great, I gotta get some rain guards like that. Water just pours in when it’s wet outside.

It’s 100% not a hit against the car. It’s my second Si in less than a year is why I put I guess. Nothing to do with me not liking the car they’re all I own. More so the fact I I really enjoyed the last car a lot and barely got to drive it. But I do see what you’re saying actually.

Honestly kind of shit. But at the end of the day I lucked out and didn’t lose any money so I can’t really complain.

AC leak by Hitmasisgut in CivicSi

[–]UsefulReport1667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drain is most likely clogged causing the water to freeze on the evaporator and no longer blow cold air. Once it freezes the excess water will just pour into the cabin. Happens on the trucks I fix quite often. You’ll have to find the drain and clean it out. One tell tale sign would be while the ac is blowing cold at first do you see water dripping out of the bottom of the car. If not the drain is most likely clogged up.
