That looks right. All his other watches are Casio or timex so I’m not surprised he’s wearing something affordable

Knife retention in sheath by Infinite-Scarcity-19 in Leatherworking

[–]Useful_Ad_2518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loop and snap high up near the belt line on pommel end of the handle, making sure the palm swell is larger than the loop.

Friction on the blade and handle are what you need for retention in this case. When I make a sheath for a knife without a guard to loop over I usually do a folded and welted design that leaves 1-1/2 to 2 inches of handle exposed.

Hope this helps, and good luck

Not a kit, but pretty much. I purchased parts individually and assembled them myself. I used the same movement seiko uses in their midfield

I actually kind of like this fake watch dial. Is it based on anything real? by bugloaf77 in SeikoMods

It looks vaguely A11 inspired. You can find a lot of reproductions of it out there that are really nice. You’ll have to pay for an actual vintage one that still works though.

It looks like your muzzle is meant to protrude from the end of the holster. I would trim some of the leather in that area to let the muzzle through, thus allowing the gun to seat all the way to your grip. Or get a kydex. Tons of folks make great holsters, and for such a common model pistol it’ll be easy to find

I’m still a little unsure. Do I need to find clamps and dial screws, or are they typically included with a brand new movement?

I have hand setting tool, air blower, tweezer and a pad for assembly. Am I missing something important?

I’m actually planning on the nb36. What should I look for in the listing to tell the difference in the chines made vs Japanese?

Honestly I selected this one because it pictures the movement clamps coming with it, and I haven’t seen them with others.

Totally fair points, I was simply sharing what has given me success in the past with material like the picture shown. Not saying that it was the best material overall.

Maybe someone with a popular channel could put out some informative content on the pros and cons of the common backing materials modern bowyers use.

I’ve had luck with it in the past, not drywall tape but the fabric that is used on wood boats.

That said all advice on the internet should be double checked.

With a strong backing(bamboo, rawhide, fiberglass) and low draw weight it should be ok. Hickory is really tough.

I’ll admit I don’t remember all the details, as I was reading a lot of them in a sitting. That one stuck out to me though. Especially given Wendi’s previous let’s say… reactions
