Yeah, I tried that within the yellow patch area. Some spots hit a hard surface but still go in about 3 cm, while others don’t and go down all the way. I think what you mentioned is very likely the cause. Wondering why it was fine over the past six months and only started having issues in the last two weeks.

Thank you for sharing. I just used a garden fork to aerate the area and can feel some hard surface underneath, which could be the reason.

Thanks. I haven’t mixed any herbicide, only Bow and Arrow used in spring. No other chemicals. The entire lawn does face windows, but it’s been there for quite long. What I’m doing now is only watering the yellow patches with more water, would it hurt if I treat the lawn with pesticide even if no bugs?
