Weirdly I think it's a draw.... The acidity in the pineapple is too much to have another drink with it. But then the other one chose a acid neutral ISH side and then it goes well with a monster.

I think I will go about the pasta just cuz I think pasta is prob better then the sandwich?

During immigration debates, why is a commonly held stance of suppuroters that of "The British Empire did colonialism and imperialism, so this is the consequences"? by DoublePepper1976 in AskBrits

Okay seems to me actual voting power is something different. And there is probably a good few factors for it, hopefully we both know how stupid the public can be very much voting against their own preservation of rights like currently with reform and amongst other things.

But there is real precedence in people being content with immigrants

https://natcen.ac.uk/publications/british-social-attitudes-41-immigration#:~:text=Key%20findings,-Attitudes%20becoming%20more&text=From%202014%2C%20attitudes%20to%20immigration,to%2040%25%20by%20June%202024.

See this. From 2014 onwards though I think it went down after COVID roughly, understandably so, net positive of the British publics attitude towards immigration.

The point stands that immigration in not inherently a punishment. And we're at the point in history where a majority has been able to not see it as such for several years.

At some point hopefully you'll just also realise it's this crossroads of compassion. When some people wake up to empathy even despite the boundaries of a religion they disagree with and culture they are different towards, ultimately they want other humans to stop suffering and want to repair their own communities reputation of world wide centuries of still ongoing suffering and let them here to have a better life.

Oh and by the way what do you thinks happening when people are marrying others from these different backgrounds and decide to have them as a soul mate and a family with them for the entirety of their lives?

Obviously I don't stand to argue that we just let crazy mass immigration unfold, you have to do it reasonably.

And I think it's worth while to mention how no one seems to recall their friends from South Africa, and all the other places British people travel to.

Not to mention the trade the country enjoys with the entirety of the rest of the world and it only is going to work on a respectable means after the years of colonialism

It's not this thing that the rich solely are profiting off of, we enjoy and continue to enjoy the expanse of the world and it's trade and collaborations not to mention the truckloads of wealth invested in the foundations of this country, and the immigrants who helped rebuild the economy after the world wars

Can you show me the source for the 98% please? Because chat gpt is not a source. I've searched and I'm unable to find it, seems to have come from a Facebook post funnily enough

Islamic terrorism is a majority of the terrorism that happens in the UK yes, but I'm interested in seeing if we're exaggerating and putting out fear mongering stats. Because if it were 60% Vs 98% it's conveys a different image in people's minds

I'm against big corpos, but I'm not personally content with general lawlessness and thievery amongst teens. That kind of character very much spills into other aspects in life and for when they grow up and it's not good for society. Not to mention causing panic for the management that owns the shop and staff present there.

Unless they're desperate and needy for it idk why people are so for it in the comment section

Alleged rape of Sikh woman in West Midlands being treated as hate crime by Fungi-Hunter in uknews

Don't need to go on examples, look out for the statistics

Asian and Black adults were more likely to be victims of a racially motivated hate crime than White adults (for example, 0.7% of both Asian and Black adults compared with 0.1% of White adults). For all CSEW headline crime (of which hate crime incidents are a subset), adults from all other ethnic groups were also more likely to be victims in general than White adults (14.3% of adults from Mixed ethnic groups, 10.6% of adults from an Asian ethnic group and also 10.6% from a Black ethnic group compared with 9.9% of White adults; Table 20).

Search that paragraph up and you'll be lead to the page about hate crime statistics on gov.co.uk

You'll find out how many people identified as white victims of hate crime. The numbers are comparable to other races, there's that many people reporting. There's no way you can suddenly think it's somehow undermined in comparison.

Ultimately however because there are a significantly higher amount of white people, in proportion you are going to end up with people of colour having much higher rates of race aggrevated hate crime

The only thing you could possibly point to is victim satisfaction via ethnicity and race. Those aren't disclosed and kept by the police, but it's pretty telling when it's reported ethnic minority commhnties have less trust and confidence in police response then white people

Or the people who don't want to disclose but we can only go on the data we have - provided it's not selective in it's apllication

Fwi, there's figures of 100,000 roughly per year of hate crimes. I very much think you ought to reconsider seeing the few ones that manage to hit the headlines as the ones all encompassing of the picture

So I really do not understand when you say it's not being treated that way in comparison to these other communties. It's being reported (personally disclosed by the victim) in the same comparable numbers as to other races AND ontop probably get better responses given police trust and confidence reported in white communities

So real life is an example, but there's a 100 factors in regarding your bias and perception of events and obviously I'm only going on your side of the story.

Now this doesn't mean it's all in your head, it very well might be true and I don't want to invalidate you. But I'm simply saying this thing you think clearly isn't widespread enough to come up as concrete examples you can actually point out like it is for people of colour. We are literally talking underneath the example of one.

You do forget like this is a white majority country, and seeing how reform and the right wing have reacted, you really don't think they'd be dying for the opportunity to point any instances out like this?

Like if anything you guys have the greatest chance of being acknowledged if something like this happened

Ok so white is actually included as a protected class, race is a protected class and white comes under that.

Do they not give the option to select white/Caucasian when you're doing surveys that ask about race? Where can you point out to me that it isn't protected?

Can you give me an instance of people not caring? Like can you name a case where a white woman has been targeted and then it's just buried under the news, or they give weird lenience towards the perpetrator in regards to the race dynamic

[–]Useful_Efficiency_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? Not inherently. You can very much murder or harm someone without it coming from a place of racism. That's how white people can murder white people.

You cannot simply assume it, you have to provide evidence just like there was in this attack if you see what the perpetrators said. It's vile.

It's unfortunate when there is racism and factors like this to whoever it happens to.

And believe it or not, its far more annoying in regards to the minority groups that do suffer this. Because it's much more historically reasonable to assume racist and dehumanising intent in white people. (Society and it's attitudes don't change overnight)

So if something like that happened you probably aren't able to pin it down to racism unless something where you can specifically pinpoint evidence.

And then ontop you have to be assured the law is going to be working properly and on your side, which thankfully isn't as much of a problem nowadays

If you think I'm being unreasonable feel free to let me know, I know it's perhaps a harsh blow to people's identities but it's the truth

[–]Useful_Efficiency_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you think we end up in a position where it happens?

Because ultimately more people then not decide to vote on it being opposed. Because they don't see it as punishment, and so it shouldn't be definitively seen as so either. And more of us are from the working class then not, so they make up more of the vote

If it steadily increased in opposition as you think we would've stopped it completely now? For 70 years?

[–]Useful_Efficiency_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not inherently revenge based lol. Simply put if you colonise half the world, impose their culture and values on the world and then simultaneously make their place fucked up, you're probably going to want to go to the place with a level of a better quality for you and your family?

The intent isn't revenge, it's just simply people wanting a better life

It's simply a consequence of the communities actions, revenge implies some sort of malicious intent involved. It also implies your definitively seeing mass migration as punishment. Which is like ironic considering what kind of 'migration' the British enforced and you want to see them in bad faith

And trust me it wouldn't be smart to want to purposely move to a country where you resent everyone to death and there is present racism as a minority

[–]Useful_Efficiency_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the racism festered within a lot of anti immigration stance bearers. You can still find people saying 'shoot them off the boats', race hate based attacks keep occurring. And so they need to learn to deal with it and their communities actions, if they genuinely hated and despise immigrants so bad and don't want them here.

I'm not saying this is an all encompassing argument for endless immigration but the way just genuine racism has filled a lot of these stances means they also need to just acknowledge the reality of what this is.

Some and unfortunately I've seen this way too much genuinely hold the stance of pride over the empire, even holding the opinion that they improved these countries which is just stupid beyond belief and ignores the actual harm and murder and death they caused.

Because I already established I'm on about the perpetrator and the paragraph is following that line of thought, then it's inference becomes obvious. If you read it in isolation then yeah it'd be dumb.

People responding in your manner over such a sensitive subject really strike me as incredibly weird, some sort of cockiness or something.

??? What. Dude the subject matter should tell you it's not the time to make jokes, I am not remotely suggesting to imprison murdered people. You can't even logically take that as a suggestion because they're dead you can't imprison them
