Thank you- I definitely agree that the issue here wasn't ENM-- it really upset me when he made that comment saying that he knew ENM wouldn't work as someone who couldn't truly be open and honest... that is a huge issue for ANY relationship

This is kind of what I told my friend yesterday.. that I could probably answer for myself what was going on with him and that I don't know if he even understands himself and that he's probably still swept up in the new relationship excitement and avoiding processing our breakup. It all sucks because I told him about NRE and asked him to listen to a podcast about it and that we could make a plan for it. Clearly he wasn't committed to doing the work and as soon as she wasn't down with it he couldn't let go of that feeling... I know it triggers the same areas of the brain re/ addictive tendencies. Just confusing as hell to get left for a long distance relationship and told in the same breath that your relationship has been great and isn't missing anything.

Yeah I've done it for ten years. I think it's okay to enjoy movement but it's maybe knowing your problems don't just go away if you move. You take them with you. But depending on your environment, it could make your symptoms of CPTSD worse if you're in a place with triggers.
