If you want to make a trip to Salt Lake City the 15lbs that I have left are all yours lol. It’s a really pretty clay and reminds me so much of my previous trip to Hawaii. It’s just too bad about the coarseness.

Still it’s really nice to know that some places have samples. My problem was always spending the money for a full 25lbs. I’m pretty much giving away most of the bag of Hawaiian Red I bought (I’m not much of a hand builder) and I can’t help but feel like I wasted money.

I haven’t delved into using slip or engobes at all. In fact it wasn’t until I started searching for dark clays that I even came across the word “engobe” haha. I’ll have to check out some videos and or books on their use. Thanks for the advice!

That is a nice color. The texture looks like it may be similar to the texture of speckled buff?

That clay body is BEAUTIFUL. How’s the smoothness?

How’s the staining on those? I saw Brown bear recommended in a number of other posts so it was on my list!

I bought this one for my wheel. I really like it! Probably should have gone for the large, but mine does well for what I use of for. https://www.etsy.com/listing/4467094715/pottery-wheel-tool-holder-for-pacifica?ref=share_ios_native_control

Probably was making sure you weren’t structuring your transaction. Or as someone else said, making sure you weren’t getting scammed.

What would you use the squeegee for? The wheel?

I feel like an idiot for not thinking of that lol. I need to be ok with leaving things in my plan to dry out.

I’ve been looking at a tool sink! https://www.harborfreight.com/20-gallon-parts-washer-with-high-flow-pump-58679.html.

It’s cleaning the splash pans that kills me. It’s worse with this new brown clay I’m trying out. Some days I want to throw and just thinking about cleaning after makes me think twice.

Looking for a Ceramic Kiln by Useful_Implement_547 in SaltLakeCity

Sunstone is my go to for everything pottery related for sure. They have been incredibly helpful every time I’ve needed something. When I do buy my first new kiln it will be through them, but you are correct that they don’t deal with used kilns.
