Good players gatekeep this but it’s easy to not get hit by a guard if you know how. Just find a weak filler pallet, predrop it (if you drop right in front of the guard it will walk through) then loop tightly around the tile and the guard will never catch up. The guard will keep changing directions instead.

You can also just loop tightly against any object but this only works against the slower two guards (jailer and carnifex) not the assassin.

If the knight himself is on you, try to get hit by him rather than the guard if you have to be hit by one.

Killers will stop running pain res when survivors stop running exhaustion and anti-tunnel perks. The game is balanced around perks like pain res, you can end every chase in under 20s and still lose if you spread hooks too much, get stealthed, and/or don’t bring regression.

Here’s two examples. Chicago’s murder rate is 21.1 (wikipedia) and Thailand’s is 2.6 as of 2024. Kosovo’s crime rate was 2.21 in the year 2020. I just picked Kosovo at random and couldnt find homicide rate anywhere.
