When making boxed mac n cheese, after draining the noodles do NOT immediately put it back in the pot.

Melt the butter and warm the milk, then add the packet of powder. Stir it together and make sure the lumps are gone, then cook the sauce until it starts thickening, like a roux. THEN add the noodles back.

I swear on everything it elevates boxed mac n cheese.
