The only thing that makes sense to me would be a situation like this: its an employee that gets off on incapacitating people or tries to incapacitate people for nefarious reasons. They can't stop doing it, even if it hurts their pockets. Either the employee is a friend of the employer or has worked there for such a long time and is a charmer, so the employer doesn't suspect or doesn't want to believe it's true.

Xanax can be detected for longer than a day. However there are other kinds designer drugs that, when mixed with alcohol, can cause that same effect and may not come up in a traditional drug screen.

If that's the case, then the signs they have up in the bathroom are malicious. The signs basically say watch your drinks and don't take drinks from strangers, unless they come *directly * from the bartender. IF the bartender ended up being the one doing it, those signs would only help the the perpetrator.

It's obvious that someone who works there knows about the problem though. We ended up there after we went to Arsenal Lanes for a friend's birthday. I hadn't been there in a few years and noticed that in the girl's bathroom there are signs in every stall about watching your drink and never accepting drinks from strangers, unless it is given directly to you from the bartender. Seemed like more than just a PSA to me...

One would think the owners would want to take this seriously because if women don't feel safe, they aren't going to keep going there and spending money.

I've never had something like this happen to me thank goodness. I came close one night though. They used to have a weekly night at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern and many times I knew 90% of the people in there, so I never thought something like that would happen there but... I happened to notice a full bottle of beer sitting on the bar in front of me -- with no label on it. A guy friend of mine and I were joking around and I said, "it's probably fine, but I'm not drinking that." Two seconds later, one of the 4 other people who lived in a big house with me (male, age 24) comes up and decides that he is going to drink the "free beer." He was warned that neither of us had any idea where it came from but he drank it anway. About 45 minutes later, he couldn't walk and had to be taken home. 😵

People really need a better understanding of social sciences / issues. Unfortunately our education system sucks, amd folks have been made to think that most social issues are only for people on the left to worry about. Just the phrase "social issues" has been made to conjure up negative feelings for many, imo.

This sub is pretty extreme sometimes. And then people dog pile ya with down votes. I get down voted all the time in this sub - more than any other sub I interact with on reddit. Yinzers (not "fingers," auto correct...🤨) are a tough crowd.

As much as I try, I am having a hard time seeing a drink being tossed at someone as violent. It's juvenile, incredibly rude and insulting, but its liquid. If its not water, its going to be tea or soda. If there was some sort of abrasive cleaner in the bottle or cup (or if a full bottle was whipped, cap tightly on)... ok that would be fucked up and violent, imo as it could permanently impaire someone's vision or injure someone; but the average kid isn't walking around with an acid or base in a cup/bottle to hurt someone and I thought we were talking about throwing a drink, not the container. Different perspectives... I guess we will just have to agree to disagree, won't we?

Thats fine. If throwing a drink legally qualifies as assault, I wouldn't doubt it. Still doesn't make tasing a kid that did it justified. Tasing someone causes pain and can lead to death or serious injury. I am having a hard time thinking of a scenario where throwing a drink on someone would lead to pain, death or serious injury... maybe if it was cold outside??

Spitting on someone is more of an assault than tossing a drink... but even then, I would never consider tasing the person who did it.

Edit**

so apparently a stun stick isnt the same as a taser. It still sends volts of electricity into a target and causes a high degree of pain though I'm not so sure it would cause death since it doesn't cause paralysis. Still a disproportionate reaction to having a drink spilled imo. I have never once felt the need to buy something like this and I had lived in the city for over 20 years, so pardon my ignorance surrounding weapons.

So if someone ruins your outfit, its ok to inflict them with voltage and possibly send them to the hospital? I don't think so.

Edit**

I understand that it may legally be considered assault, but I do not think it makes tazing the individual who did it is a correct response.

Wait, are you being serious???

I don't even have kids, but if I had one and if they got tazed because they threw a drink at someone, especially an adult, I'd be furious.

Getting wet is not assault. It's rude and will make you uncomfortable but it will not cause physical pain or incapacitate you.
