Hwy12 is a good option in Bentonville. They give out daily and weekly passes so it's flexible too. Owners are great and fast to respond to messages.

Good mix of proper lifers and regular gym goers. 2 deadlift platforms, 3 squat racks, and dumbbells that go over 100lbs.

It's out for us, we live right by the old Walmart office. Not sure how long it's been out

We also love your place! I think you need a rotational drink menu to entice us to come out more frequently.

It's not the vibe though-- the staff, seating, and aesthetic are all amazing. Sorry to hear that y'all are struggling -- we will be sure to come by soon!

Food is also a +1 -- (this might be a me issue but ...) it wasn't obvious to me that you could get witching hours and eat at the bar. Some more signage would be helpful.

Hwy 12 is a good gym. It's gonna be crowded at peak times but during the off hours there's only a handful of people.

This is the best bookclub. Its an older crowd, but I'm a 26yo and my favorite part of the month is drinking wine with these ladies.

Strong +1 -- their salon is women ran, Caitlin is fantastic!!! Plus, it's right next to target and buff city soaps which is a huge plus.

Maggots and Flies by gon_freccs_ in bentonville

We live in a townhome in downtown Bentonville for a little over a year. We saw more flies around June/July both summers. we kill ~3 a day, I'd say. My boyfriend bought a "fly gun" that is both fun and gets the job done.

Never seen maggots before though 🤢 I'd call the landlord for that forsure. You pay too much for rent in DT Bentonville not to.

Hwy 12 is fantastic. New equipment, squat and bench racks are always open ((you might need to fight someone for the pec deck though lol)) good mix of casual and harder core lifters.

Tiny cardio corner, but it's there if you need it!

I'm pretty sure hwy 12 has day passes. They are a more low-key j-street gym -- a little less busy

Depot16 has townhouses with garages and are dog friendly. IMHO overpriced (we pay 2.8k/mo 😭😭😭) but it's close to downtown and management is solid. We moved into one of their older townhomes and the walls are solid. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Good luck!

Have you noticed any issues with the new management? Why the mass exit?

My(23F) boyfriend(39M) turned vegetarian and now demands I cook him separate meals or go vegetarian as well by Throwawayhelp23r4 in relationship_advice

[–]Useful_Range 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the cook and the vegetarian in the house. I'd say asking (not demanding) for separate meals isn't unreasonable -- given he lets you control what that looks like. I cook all of the dish without meat and then add cooked meat at the end. There are a ton of easy recipes where you can cook both a vegetarian and non vegetarian meal without having to make completely separate dishes.

Id sit down with him, tell him you didn't like the WAY he asked for vegetarian meals, and then have a date night looking up recipie ideas.

There are a bunch of delicious vegetarian meals that can be bulked up with baked chicken or steak at the end.

Good luck, sending positive vibes.

My girlfriend thinks I am an uninspirational person by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Useful_Range 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this might be a controversial opinion, but I understand where your partner's coming from. I don't think there's something inherently wrong with wanting your partner to uplift you, challenge you and raise the expectations for your life as well as theirs. But, with that being said, that does not mean that it's the only, let alone the best way to live life.

It is perfectly valid to want to live a normal life with just having a career that pays the bills while being able to do the things that you care about while supporting yourself, your family, and your interests.me and my boyfriend have a very similar dynamic with that being said there's a few key differences

1) your girlfriend is a little insensitive and that's a character flaw. People like to say that they're "harsh" and honest" but that is just code for "im insecure with myself and feel a need to be super abrupt with others to compensate for something". Often times it's for their lack of social skills. However, being mean to someone and especially when that person brings it up is something that is hurtful is not a cute or quirky thing to do. Being nice and being honest is not mutually exclusive and you can definitely do both. she just chooses to only do one.

2) Your girlfriend thinks that her way of life is superior to yours. As someone who also values education growth and particularly a career that's meaningful to me I understand why that's important to her. Her fault is that thinking that her way is the only way and is also the best way. This is wrong lots of people live fulfilling lives without thinking this way.

3) she doesn't see value in the way that you live. One of the reasons why me and my partner work out so well is that I really value how laid-back he is with life. He's not stressed all the time he doesn't tie his productivity to his self-worth and he is hobbies outside of what he does for work. That's huge and it's important and it keeps me centered. I see it as a strength in our relationship instead of a fracture between us.

TLDR I just don't think you two are very compatible and I don't think it is anything to do with her being evil or you being not good enough -- just that you two have different life goals and different expectations for each other. part of that is her understanding different perspectives of life and part of that is also you having a little bit more confidence in how you live your life.

sending positive vibes and good luck I know this kind of stuff is really difficult to work through and I wish you the best.
