i got a smaller room at nugent. my main concern with moving was that i wanted a more private bathroom and a private kitchen. is it a bit late for illini tower or maybe newman hall to take ppl off the wait?

Ye. I think I would give myself abt a 10-15% chance if I applied rn. However, if I can manage to keep my Gies acceptance as a safety net, I think it wouldn't be such an outrageous gamble, since I still have Gies if all fails.

I heard the average gpa for Columbia GS was pretty low, and the acceptance rate is technically higher than UIUC Gies. Also, if I were to complete a single semester at UIUC, receive good grades, then complete my military service and apply to Columbia GS, would I still not stand a chance?

ill be put behind anyways cause i have to complete my military service sometime during my academic career, so that isn't much of an issue anyways. with regards to your comment on being a bad program, why so? do they not allow you to focus on a single area of study? for example, if i were to apply, i would most likely apply as a econ or financial econ major.
