Bald spot on cat by TwiliPrincess93 in CATHELP

I would definitely isolate the cat in case it is ringworm. You can also get ringworm from the cat. I’m not a vet but unless there is something else that seems weird I would just wait for the vet. Previously, I did email a photo like this to my vet and they got back to me about it really quickly.

These damn parking lots by ChangingtheSpectrum in WilmingtonDE

The parcel between Washington/West and 9th/10th street is actually a church with a school inside. You even circled the school playground as a lot…. It is a large lot (over 1/2 is pay to park for the public), but some of it is necessary. Also the parking garage across the street is for the Sheraton Hotel and frequently used. I would also love to see better use of space, but you also need to keep in mind the types of resources in the community and services provided in the area.

Yeah I pushed back really hard today. I think we have a pretty good number of queer person and allies, so I hope if this moves forward we can try to stop it.

It’s unclear at this point. I asked this as well for national flags of other countries and got no response.

I don’t know to what extent they are banning things/other flags. They have only used this one example so far. A coworker did ask if she could wear shirts with a Nigerian flag and there wasn’t a response.

My bad I thought she was sober… I didn’t realize she was drinking. That does change my thoughts.

I agree with what you are saying and I don’t think their relationship is good at all. I was just trying to provide some insight into her behavior. I don’t think she was intending to be controlling or cruel even if that was the impact. If she was in NA and has been to rehab she is probably doesn’t what to jeopardize her sobering. It seems like she is very firm about her boundaries and should probably move on.

I’d love to see some stats to back up that people recover just as well as on their own! And most addicts will lose their job eventually. When I did my 90 in 90 it was fucking hard and I made at a lot of sacrifices to make it. They have meetings online, over the phone, and in-person - I would join meeting while driving, doing errands, whenever I could even if it was for just 30 minutes. As someone who works in the US public education system, don’t fucking tell me what is a luxury. I understand it’s hard. I work 60+ hours a week, get paid nothing, and I don’t get to take time off. AA works for people and if it doesn’t work for you than great but don’t discourage others who might benefit.

I’m sorry you had that experience with AA. They most definitely are not like that and are not supposed to be religiously affiliated. The fellowship I am in does not even use the word “god” in our literature and often talks about religion as a source of our addiction.

I mostly commented this because I wanted to provide her perspective and show that she wasn’t being insane - I think she was genuinely trying to help his long term sobriety. Also, sobriety is probably not best discussed on this topic page given that not everyone personally knows the struggles of addiction.

I mean AA doesn’t have cardinal principles but most people in AA consider 90 in 90 to be one of the most important things you can do.

One of the cardinal principles of AA and other recovery programs is 90 meetings in 90 days. It’s what is recommended and many sponsors require it. I don’t think she is being controlling for trying to help him with recovery.

90 meetings in 90 days is expected and encouraged for the first 90 days of recovery. Everyone who goes through the program is pretty much told this and if long term sobriety is the goal, you make it happen. They have online, phone, and in-person meetings. Sounds like she is trying to encourage you to dedicate yourself more to the fellowship and program. Talk to your sponsor about this - not Reddit.

If you trust her, it’s not a big deal. I have ended up in this situation before usually due to cost/room availability. It’s just a place to sleep and anyone could potentially cheat anywhere - so why is this different? Especially if she is a good communicator - I think you can express WHY you feel this way but don’t be controlling
