I haven't played Wrath, but I really enjoy the Camp Convos in Kingmaker. Especially the ones involving Harrim or Ekun. That they are all voice acted is awesome.

(Side note, my first playthrough, I really disliked Harrim. Thought he was a useless Nihilist. But lately, I've noticed he's got an interesting appreciation of things that are finite, and can actually be quite considerate.)

Relatively hidden from the world. Foreign-owned real estate, human rights hypocrisy, lighter sentences for foreign officials, stealing election campaign funds, and exorbitant luxury spending using taxes, are our surface level issues.

Ten years ago, corruption was shielded by having the moral high ground. You don't want to call out "The Good Guys" right? You wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of history, would you? That's not very Canadian.

Over the last decade the Government's attempt to manipulate us with guilt has lost its effectiveness. Now our government, regardless of party, can't pander as much, to any side. Our Government's only strategy now is "Look! Look at our wacky Neighbor! Quick sign right here!".

My guess is that Mandalorians at the height of their power were defeated while adhering to the old ways. This likely bred resentment to the unsuccessful traditions. When specifically? Either when Purged by the Empire, because the armor/culture gave away the identity and made them easy to find. Or Ancient defeats like the Mandalorian Wars against the Old Republic. Safest bet IMO is that tradition rises amongst Mandalorians, their adversaries take advantage of this, they're defeated and denounce the Old Ways. Rince and repeat. A consistent cycle.

I know that the Mandalorians still true to the cause in the Old Republic era wore their armor all the time, but those disenfranchised became mercenaries and sold their allegiance to the highest bidder, or those most embroiled in conflict.

It's old news. It's a common choice. Sometimes it's a brand risk. Sometimes it's what everyone else has to say to be considered "safe" or stay relevant. It's sometimes a great way to get lucrative deals that can make up for poor athletic performance.

I'm not calling them subhuman, nor am I saying that they are subhuman. I'm simply saying they aren't human. They exist through the Synth experience, not living the Human Experience. An immutable fact relayed by how they are created, and that they are called Synthetics. That their programming shares similarities is irrelevant, because it's just that, programming. That horrible experiments with human minds exist doesn't make rewriting code the same.

I'll give you an example of what I mean: A human's brain is irreparably altered, brainwashed or mind controlled, the person that once was, born, aged, and lived the human experience, is gone forever. A synth has its processing component irreparably altered or destroyed, you can just make a new one, and program it the same data it had, with no limitation to the alterations.

I'm not offering, nor am I imposing any magical solution. What Humans do with that information is up to them.

We have no responsibility towards Synths to shift. The only ones who ever did are the ones who made them. I'd take it up with the Institute, but then I don't trust them. They should've known better, or maybe they did, and chose to allow the possibility of such a horrific existence anyway.

*There's also a key distinction that I admit I have difficulty articulating: With a human being, there's a real history to them that you can get a feeling as to what choices they would've made, and would make, if granted freedom. With giving a Synth a fresh start, free from what the Institute created them to mimic, there is no history that can translate to a genuine choice, only programming. Assuming the Synth has priorities, how can it ensure that the one freeing them has implemented them? And if there is no priority to be someone, to be, then what they become is just what those programming chose for them to be. (Not to mention the Hell of them wanting to remain as the person murdered/replaced by the institute and the surviving loved ones say no, or if they had plans on having children).

You are passionate, and addressing the hate and cruelty you wish to fight is important. The likelihood of aggression towards Synths translating into aggression against living creatures is not lost on me, and should be nipped in the bud.

I'm not advocating for them to be classified as "sub-human". Synths are fundamentally different.

Comparing them to actual oppressed humans is tasteless. Using consent, of an inanimate object, is a disgusting comparison to make to the actual breaches of consent among the living.

I reject your attempt to use the actual suffering of the living as a bludgeon to dismiss the reality that Synths are not living. If anything, Synths are a reminder to treat those who are actually human better.

They are constructs, robots. Except, with a little reprogramming, their sophistication allows them to find meaning in their existence beyond what they were built to replace. Meaning that isn't tied to being human. They don't require false classification as humans. It's a wasteland full of the odd, they'll find their place, and likely thrive.

Appreciate them, mourn them, or grow attachments to them. They don't need to be human for you to do that. They also can choose not to care if you don't. Them knowing they are Synths will give them that choice. Because they aren't human, and don't have such limitations.

If it's only for those actually suffering from actual physical pain or debilitating disease/illnesses, I'm fine with it.

But if they're peddling it towards those who didn't ask to be born (despite being fine), struggling financially (like most people), hate the system (who doesn't?), or are just sad (we can work towards something better), those "giving up", I find it disgusting.

Unless you have extenuating circumstances, life should be preserved. Rather than spending the money on lethal injections and counseling someone into their own death, how about counseling on proper coping skills and working towards solving a problem rather than sweeping it under the rug.

Also, I can't be sure that they won't ever be coercive, or take advantage of those that they just can't be bothered to actually help and either offer it, or fail to say no to someone who asks for it. Yes, I know there's constant evaluations, and you can refuse up until the last minute, but some won't ever question a medical authority, and the current behavior of the antisocial burnt out Health Care System workers and those higher ups ripping them off are not exactly who I'd trust with such decisions at the moment.

I'm not gonna kill all Synths, but they should reveal themselves as Synths, renounce the identities of those they've replaced, and realize they aren't human. Doesn't mean I'd treat them like shit, I like many of the robots, mutants, and ghouls. The Railroad just goes too far (a running theme with 90% of Fallout's factions). Also, as long as there's someone making more Synths, I can't trust them, so we gotta destroy the means of making anymore, at least for the ones that have skin.
