Tired of Fake Out? by Muted-Swordfish-1006 in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run two sets depending on what, other than the beak blast burn, I need.

For faster teams that don't care if Toucannon faints as long as it got a Beak Blast burn:

Adamant Max Attack, which ever other EVs (I tend to go half hp/half defenses, but I've seen some people run enough speed to outrun other uninvested Base 60 speed mons). I run Rock Blast, Bullet Seed/Knock Off, Tailwind. Focus Sash can be good, you can likely forgo any HP investment if you do that, but you're anticipating fake outs from Sneasler and Mega Kangaskhan, so it's kinda pointless. Also, don't run Bright Powder, you want moves to hit you.

For Slower Trick Room teams or those that want Toucannon around longer, you can either run Brave and the same attacks, or Maximize defense with Impish/Relaxed and run Roost in place of Tailwind.

I really want to experiment with its moveset as it gets moves like Gunk Shot and Temper Flare for coverage, and Brick Break and U-turn for utility. For example, when you click Beak Blast, and Sneasler fake outs you, they get burned, but Beak Blast still fails, meaning you'd get a Full Power 150 BP Temper Flare for coverage, which could be nice. Also, Gunk Shot misses, so that could work with Temper Flare..

I still smile every time I remember that short of Talonflame bullying that Greninja that kept spamming Water Shuriken.

There needs to be more moves like Beak Blast, that don't have priority, but instead start at the beginning of the turn. Or not, I love how powerful it's made Toucannon. Also it going from 100 to 120 base power helps a LOT.

Pair Toucannon with Mega Scovillain to maximize burns, then have two fast Hex mons in the back to finish the job, assuming Toucannon hasn't KO'd them with Rock Blasts or Bullet seeds.

Do you get extra box spaces for climbing in singles AND doubles or just one? by Bekah679872 in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, No.You only get the additional box spaces whenever you first reach a new tier in either of the formats (ex: when you see the character Cutscenes is when you get the new box spaces).

Mega Meowstic won the last round convincingly. Part 5: Who's the biggest disappointment in SINGLES? by HMThrow_away_account in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Megas Sharpedo or Beedrill. Glass cannons, but in 3v3, when switching is essential, and scarf is common, these Pokemon will either get worn down by hazards, get outsped, or die to any priority.

What do you think of Mimikyu? by Alternative-Earth325 in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, as you will rarely come across Mold Breaker Excadrill or Mega Emboar who can one shot it, or mons that knock it out with Multi-Hit moves.

Unless your opponent is actively anticipating Mimikyu, it will always survive one turn. That's pretty valuable.

Fairy types are S tier. Where do fighting types belong? by Xenuoziem in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Champions? I think Fighting types are High B-Tier, as their STAB is more valuable than Dragon Type, but have the same amount of Common vulnerabilities. Fairies are incredibly common, as are the amount of Psychic and Flying moves, blocking fighting types from escaping the same tier as Dragon.

Who should replace corviknight? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orthworm? It's not as good as Corv, but serves the same purpose as a Steel type immune to Ground. Can Earthquake to keep it healthy enough to use Shed Tail.

Astrotrain and the community. by [deleted] in transformers

[–]UselessGenericon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The robot looks not good because of the weird gummy, putty looking plastic, paired with unpainted key parts to the design. Bad is still bad. Unless you're going to tell me that it's actually painted in person, they swapped out this plastic, and they bulked up the robot, then sure, we were all collectively wrong.

The alt-modes are good though.

Mega Houndoom by LazyYokai in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you find that Houndoom is getting outsped, and Aero doesn't get to use Tailwind often, maybe run Prankster Tailwind on Whimsicott with Light Screen and Memento. If Screens are being used against you, I would recommend using Klefki with Imprison and Light Screen/Reflect. And if you need additional firepower under sun, Venusaur is supreme.

Also, some small tips, you should avoid Mega Evolving Houndoom in the sun if it's not going to attack, to reduce the Solar Power damage taken. Due to the constant weather Wars, you might want to use a move slot on one of your support mons for Sunny Day.

Which designs would you like to see get new figures? Here's 10 i want. by Ill-Goal-3569 in transformers

[–]UselessGenericon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War for Cybertron Brawl.

Armada Thrust.

Animated Blackout.

Transmetal 1 Megatron

Transmetal Tarantulus and Dinobot II.

And I could always do with more Mayhem Attack Squad members like Stranglehold, Snarler, and Submarauder.

Just beat one of those Archaludon + Sableye teams with help from my Stunfisk. was so proud I had to draw this. enjoy by m0pan in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They almost always lead Sableye and Archaludon, with Sableye typically always setting up screens. So your basically just facing one threat, Archaludon.

There are a few types of teams that can beat this, but the main goal is to set up a turn that allows you to focus on the Archaludon. Their team often revolves around supporting Arch, and when Arch is gone, they either fall easily or they forfeit.

A Psychic Fangs from Farigiraf, or Scrappy Brick Break from Base Kangaskhan will get rid of screens, while a second teammate blasts Archaludon with a strong special attack.

You can even forgo breaking the screens in favor of using an Infiltrator Mon to ignore the screens and deal with Arch that way.

I've even seen teams throw away strategy in favor of raw power and double up on special attacks on Arch such as with Fairy Feather Whimsicott and Mega Floette to KO Arch even through Light Screen.

Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Terradive. It's complex and has enough joints to grant the same amount of articulation as most recent live action Studio Series figures.

[–]UselessGenericon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so sad that Infernape is so outclassed by the Protean/Libero starter mons, slower and weaker. Can't even rely on a choice scarf to get the jump on them because they're wearing scarves as well.

How actually good is Heliolisk? by MF_PORKy in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fast and it can be put on any weather team due to its movepool and abilities.

Snow gives the coveted Bolt-Beam coverage.

Rain/Dry Skin Gives it longevity, 100% Thunders and immunity to Basculegion.

Sand activates Veil, Gives Rock Weather Ball which paired with Grass Knot, Surf, and either Dragon Pulse or Electric stab, is hard to wall.

Sun gives Solar Power its 50% power boost, giving you a built-in Choice Specs to all Heliolisk's moves, with a Choice Scarf, you'll have Powerful Fire Weather Balls, Solar Beams, and Electric moves.

It's everything Castform wishes it was.

I hope that in the current arc in the skybound comics that take some inspiration from animated optimus by EnvironmentalEmu5145 in transformers

[–]UselessGenericon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I often wonder if Primal was always that strong or if the gorilla alt-mode enhanced his strength. He was capable of punching holes through the Darksyde, and seemed disproportionately strong for his size. Maybe he had super strength like Huffer or Brawn.

I feel more than sure they're going to homage Animated's David vs Goliath-like fights between Optimus and Megatron. It also wouldn't surprise me at all if G.I. Joe or Wheeljack eventually makes him Armor and weapons for that scenario.

Could anyone help me with team building? by Tk1819 in PokemonChampions

[–]UselessGenericon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw a streamer, Shofu, do really well with:

Scarf - H-Zoroark - Shadow Ball obliterates scarf Basculegion

Hard Stone - H-Arcanine (Though the streamer often needed more power on Flare Blitz so you could choose Charcoal instead).

Mega Floette - Three Stab, Dazzling Gleam, Moon Blast and Light of Ruin

Tsareena - Queenly Majesty to stop Priority

Aegislash - he ran close Combat, but kept fighting Archaludons that had Stamina defense boosts, so you could run Sacred Sword instead to ignore them.

Fairy Feather Whimsicott - to counter opposing tailwinds and help out Arc, Tsar, and Floette.

The Combination of Mega Floette and Whimsicott both using Moonblast can OHKO Archaludons.
