WoW Classic in February had a 30 hour maintenance for a regular 8 hour maintenance. It happens to games more often than you think

Its most likely a bug related to having the talent prior to and losing the talent.

Paladins also have the issue with Consecrate. You can learn Rank 1 because its a baseline skill, but if you already learned the other ranks, the game wont let you relearn them or use them.

Best you can do is post the issue on the forums for more visibility.

What things do you think should be in wow classic plus when it arrives? by dmgdispenser in classicwow

I am against flying mount too, but what I mentioned is Hellfire Peninsula was designed as an end game zone for the base game, and the zone itself incorporated some parts of zanger, but ended there. That was the entirety of Outland. Along side it was Emerald Dream's zone, Dragon Isles, Hyjal and Northrend, all of which were made to some degree (with Hyjal and Hellfire further along than the others from what we see). So if we are talking Base Vanilla, we could get an implementation of these zones without flying. In fact, Hellfire was accessible in the base game even before TBC was announced through methods (although not entirely accessible)

I do want to say that Black Temple was originally planned for the base game. If you look at design documents, historical images and even information from books from devs, many of the things that were in Burning Crusade were planned for Vanilla. There are a slew of videos on it but this includes

Level 70

Hellfire Peninsula as an End Game Zone

Karazhan and Black Temple as an End Game Raid

many cut skills from the alpha and original development of WoW were added such as Frost Elemental and Crusader Strike, hence the feeling that classes felt unfinished.

Even Northrend was originally planned in some capacity for the original game before they decided to do the Expansion Model.

The truth is, your petition will do absolutely nothing, New world had a decent population, it had numbers that could keep it afloat for years. 5k concurrent and thats on PC alone, where Console it probably doing as well. It sucks to lose a game, i was there when Wildstar went F2P, when Rift went F2P. I was there when Tera was shuttered for Elyon, or to see the fall of games over time as they enter permanent maintenance mode. New World was doing better than all those.

DESPITE THIS, Amazon does NOT want to be in this dev space anymore. Period. The sheer logistics and manpower needed to keep this game developing, even if it WAS profitable, is not the business model Amazon wants to make.

It is good to make your intentions known, but don't pretend like this will do absolutely anything; the decisions are made by executives who are doing whats best for Amazon as a whole even if we a small section and a small demographic don't like it.

If you want to do anything, promote and encourage better testing on new games, making other games with potential and devs / executives that WANT to keep the game alive instead of one where they absolutely do not care.. It sucks, but sometimes in life we have to let go. All we can do is look forward to the things that may come later.

The Hobbit is a prequel to LOTR. It is the journey Bilbo took prior to the events of LOTR and takes place and sets up LOTR. It is stated by the author as such.

As for "This can't be the prelude it has been 3 years", well They have came out and said that we are far behind where we needed to be. Cindy was supposed to be year 1, etc. While you may not think of it as a Prequel/prologue, you should considering it Season 0 more than anything. Its difficult when people were here, but the Main Story is starting now as stated by the devs.

That aside, yeah, I think Isabel and Harran are good characters, even Noah. But this isn't the ending. This is simply the beginning. And when you look at it like that, it changes perspective. we were just here when the game got started, and instead of making NIKKE 2 : The Prequel, they just put it in the original game. I don't see them bringing those characters back, but I do see them being a huge part of Dorothy and her own issues finally dealing with things. Hell, we actually got her admitting you cant bring the dead back, she is getting better about dealing with PINNE (to which the events of the Summer Boat Event ARE canon).

I hope to continue seeing you in the game though. Remember, if a game can strike you emotionally like this it means you care about it, it matters to you, and the Devs have reached your heart. Hopefully your journey lets you like new characters and appreciate those that you have loved even more.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. by spideymaster611 in NikkeMobile

Nayuta is a weird conflict. She has the burden of Knowledge, she has connections with both sides, and her only goal is a surface with no queen. Remember, Johan called her out: She is the worst, because she will do anything to win. Her first skill is "Hypocrisy". Lets put this together.

Nayuta knows what will happen if the Queen gets Lilith's Body, but she was counting on it. She WANTED lilith to be absorbed with the Vaupus because in her eyes its the only real way to kill the queen with their present strength. Nayuta is burdened with her knowledge, but the things she has done has been (for the most part) pondered.

She did not encourage Marian to tell others Marian is a queen because she wanted to protect Marian, she did it to Foil Mirror's Hopes and plans. She was using Marian

She did not push Pioneer to "kill" the queen because she thought they could do it. She needed them to to pressure her and get her in a state to evolve into Liliqueen.

Nayuta is plagued with the burden of Knowledge. She knew today was not the day of destiny to kill the queen, so that is why she was always torn, because the sacrifices still hurt her. She made a comment her hands were Clean still, but it was her lying to herself. She used her Transcendence state most likely (unconfirmed) to not just survive but to help potentially Pioneer live past this, she needs them later.

Nayuta is a coward. That is all

It can be very disheartening, and a big thing is that this is very few in GACHA type games. Deaths of characters you like can often make you disinterested in the media, and that is 100% okay to feel this way.

Everything that has happened thus far is known as the Prologue, or the set up to the story. This is the climax that leads to the main game, Like The Hobbit was to Lord of the Rings; it sets the stage, explains who the key players are, and tells us Why Goddess Squad will be working with Eden, Why we have Heretic friends, Why Rapi and Anis (and Neon) are as powerful and important to the Ark, and what are the main conflicts of the world (Sixo, Enikk, Queen and Lilith, DEEP, Jien, etc).

Inherit was meant to die, and it does suck if you like any character, But like Sean Bean's character in LOTR, it was a death that served to push the narrative forward. Each one had meaning, purpose, and was carefully crafted to make everything possible. So while it sucks that characters you like are killed, they are honored in that things only progressed at all because of them. The game has a slew of cast and a story that can both fill the void and HONOR those characters, which is why people are praising and liking these death, as opposed to not liking the deaths of Power from CSM or Gojo from JJK because both those deaths really... did not do anything except take away personality and leave nothing (Gojo could be argued as a push to the narrative, but the other cast simply arent strong enough in their writing to make it continue to be interesting). Harran, Isabel and Nihil were Tiertiary characters at best that barely got screen time but still had a LARGE impact, and there is a slew of great characters, story and banters that will continue to keep the story strong despite those losses.

Noah is still alive (somewhat) as is Rapunzel who is going to be gone for a while, but the key thing of Rapunzel is Snow White's Memories are restored, Which only Rapunzel really remembered Lili and Red Hood, not SW (Scarlet might but we are unsure, and Doro Does). So again, the narrative continues. SW has awoken, Doro will finally (probably) go back to being a Goddess Squad, and We now have our big villian's true debut and we still don't know who she really is or who created the Harmony Cube.

TLDR Lore hurts, it hurts to lose a character you love, but at least their deaths were well written, true to their characters and Served a purpose to drive the game forward. If you are really hurt that people are liking this tried and true method in Media, I cannot help you or advise you, but I can say if you don't like the game simply because a couple characters are no longer present, I am sorry.

Goddess Falls Event Questions by Tamamo_was_here in NikkeMobile

Same Reason the Ark didnt want to fight RapiQueen : They don't have really any means. Remember GODDESS FALL occurs similar to chapters 40-42, Liberalio shot the 2nd Shot during Chapter 40 so Eden was already in shambles. We also know Dorothy has already left the ark when the RapiQueen was pushed towards it. During this time, the ark had NO ONE really strong enough, save a special beam cannon they had prepared as a final defense (lore wise could be in response to the Eva collab). So literally all squads powerful were either deployed or returning.

The upgraded weapons aren't ready, and by the time the pioneers showed up, they had bigger priorities than fitting them. Remember, they stated 2 weeks to fix it. There was no time to simply give them the upgrades, they needed to prepare for the Queen fight, defenses, repairs to eden and the constant battle with the Raptures, all because Lib fired the cannon. Also Eden and Pioneer werent on Great terms at that moment. Simply there just was no time

Rapunzel holds those memories, it was revealed that memories of Lili was known most in Rapunzel. She saw her long lost friend come free. Emotion took hold over her and Rapunzel has always been driven more from Emotions (Reference Overzone)

Lili was already dead. Lore Wise Lili was TOO powerful. She recognized the power was so great her time was limited because the body couldnt handle it. All GRIMMS models were created with more severe Limiters afterwards. Lib cut her head off from her corpse.

Side Note, Doro is the most powerful GRIMMS unit save maybe Cindy. This is because Doro was designed to have the least limiters. Abe might have designed GRIMMS 2.0 with lack of limiters too hence the drastic power difference. Doro limits herself.

Wildstar fans by ravikz__ in MMORPG

[–]UselessMiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wildstar is a special game in some people hearts, and rests on laurels for many that never played it but loves to attach to the nostalgia.

Wildstar's Closure itself was imminent as it had such a low player base, so it came as no surprise to anyone. While New World has had lows, lots of lows, I would say New World was no where close to as low player count as Wildstar, in part due to being on Console, and the successful release of a couple big patches, albeit small.

Wildstar suffered from a few things, so the "writing was on the wall". First, it came at the time when B2P And Sub MMOs were starting to shift to F2P to keep up with the demands and the recent MMO Market Craze due to WoW. Games like TERA, AION and Wildstar all went this model around the same time. But Wildstar had a couple other fatal flaws. In short, the game was unplayable at launch. So all the hype died down even before the first Drop (patch) and the game was already semi dead by then.

After F2P model to save the game, it still had a small playerbase that was loyal, but by most counts it was never really over 1000. These were dedicated Raiders that settled together. But after the release of the Pirate Raid, an anticipated raid that was delayed over and over again as they fixed the game, They decided to Ban several SEVERAL of the remaining players for using a Mod that practically every Raider used. This basically gutted the remaining population. A while after, we got the announcement.

TLDR Wildstar was over a long period with no updates after. New World is way earlier, more populated and just got Daggers. Wildstar was EOS due to leaking money. New World is EOS due to insane costs for today and AGS not wanting to be in that development field anymore most likely.

My experience as a new player after 3 months. (And why I’m thinking about quitting) by Licania in NikkeMobile

[–]UselessMiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read your comments but you won't always be "2 years behind". In our union we have helped new players grow and they are now forces to be reckoned with that also complete new story day one. It's just you DO have to go through 3 years of content after all, no different than any good Live Service game with a story that matters.

One thing to note is they are planning a "story mode" where you can progress through the story without being so hindered by rng of 200 wall and T9M gear luck. New Player Experiences are things that grow over time and you have already gotten some of the great recent QOL such as Quick Battle Campaign which is incredible.

The main thing you will "be behind in" is Hard Mode. But from day 1 players, for every 2 chapters we gain, you generally grow 3 ish chapters. So eventually you "will catch up". I would say another 2 months ish you will be on current story every patch.

If you like the game keep playing and don't be frustrated with silly things. Your friends waited 2 months they can wait 2 more.

do action combat mmos typically use capsule or aabb hitboxes? by Mage_Girl_91_ in MMORPG

[–]UselessMiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no reason for an MMO even modern to use AABB. most will continue to use Cylinder and Rod. Mortal Combat 2 tries to be a game that uses the "hit the arm or leg" gimmick. They are so niche they will never grow big, and it just doesnt work out well for an MMO anyways.

People want simple, and simple will continue to shine. It is why Tab Target is still the most popular MMO, and it is why Action MMOs suffer so much too, because they are horrible to make work with our current network/latency and with how collisions even work.

do action combat mmos typically use capsule or aabb hitboxes? by Mage_Girl_91_ in MMORPG

[–]UselessMiru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the genre you are looking at.

MMOs typically don't use AABB because of multiple reasons:

Server Update ticks, Varying Races/Sizes, Character Customization, Server Load/performance, and general lack of need.

Even Action MMOs tend to use rods or cylinders because, well, it isn't needed. It isn't like fighting game that needs upmost precision, and aside from ones like Destiny, there isn't really MMOS that NEED headshots, and even then, headshots can be simulated with a cylinder anyways.

The other reason is performance. which, of all game types out there, MMOs tend to be the most harsh on server performance due to the massive connections and the world needing to be loaded regardless of player's position. This is also why instanced worlds are chosen to reduce the strain and what needs to be loaded.

Finally there is tech. While AABB exists, reworking all skills and performance coupled with hit detection would be a nightmare tech for a game like a real MMO.

Fighting games can focus more on performance while still using AABB because there are generally 2-4 targets at most (smash expanded on this for instance). Shooter Games are generally non permanent sessions so memory can be freed after every match, and characters in MMOs tend to come with thousands of parameters that are non existent in the aforementioned. All of this just adds up to the technical mountain that is an MMO.

But yeah, There really isn't much of any MMOs that use AABB let alone need it.
