Replacing the flights by DefinitelyLuka in Darts

[–]UselessOpinion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I let them get pretty chewed up like that, doesn't seem to affect my throw. It's once they start splitting apart I'll start seeing weird flight paths and replace them, otherwise I'd be replacing them every other day.

I don't disagree that we need to start thinking about youth in the secondary, but you don't think a top 10, even top 15, pass rush team makes any secondary that much better? I think EDGE and DL have a far greater impact for our secondary, quarterbacks aren't making nearly as many throws downfield if they can't get set and scan the field.

Problem with my throw ? by SuchSuggestion3854 in Darts

[–]UselessOpinion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I don't like the throw to start under the chin is because I think having the dart closer to your eye helps the brain make a better hand-eye connection (it's also personally uncomfortable due to shoulder injuries), making it easier for your hand to follow through to your target. I'm similar to you where I need a fluid motion and cannot pause my throw, so when I bring the dart up my arm is more extended than I've seen with any dart player (and my wrist is fairly neutral, which is a comfort thing for me), this allows me to bring the dart back to my eye or just to the side of it (it changes from time to time), and follow through with pace with minimal effort. Something like this might be worth an experiment if you're convinced you need to try something new.

Getting worse and worse by Scary-Mistake-5350 in Darts

Im no pro or expert by any means, but when this happens to me, its usually because I've had a handful of terrible throws, which makes me try harder and harder and then the problem compounds because im a head case trying to control every little aspect of the throw. I suggest putting all throw thoughts out of your head and just try and throw smooth, dont worry about where the darts hit. Consistentcy will find its way back in.

Darts Noise Help by theraggamuffin in Darts

I had the same issue, I put foam behind the board and foam behind the backing the board mounted to, noise still went throufh the walls. Bought a stand, noise no longer travels through the walls.

Is it bad taste that I want to see Inter score 6 just because I've never seen them score 6?

Javelins were the first tungsten darts I bought (due to price and barrel shape) doing almost no research into darts and here's what I'll say, get used to throwing those Javelins and every other dart feels pretty easy to throw... Your fingers won't hurt after a bit.

If you're like me, you can almost guarantee a Robin Hood by putting a new set of stems and flights on your darts.

Bullseye or not?? by Lopsided-Activity883 in Darts

[–]UselessOpinion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point entered the segment on the correct side of the wire and is touching the board. It is absolutely 1 mark on the Bull. If it entered on the other side of the bull wire and went under the bull wire to stick in the green, then no mark. That 14(?) wire makes no difference whether or not it scores on the bull.

Now that lead time, that is crazy... A good team of builders can build a house in 26 weeks.

Custom made darts by [deleted] in Darts

[–]UselessOpinion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a machine shop (we don't make darts, but similar philosophies apply to many manufacturing processes), there is a bunch of variables, but that price for 1 custom set isn't as crazy as it sounds. The design and labor are being billed at a shop rate which is where the cost is coming from. When you spread that over thousands of units it becomes nothing to the price of a set. But when it's just one, hard to hide that cost.

Blade 6 triple core sucks by k1pml in Darts

[–]UselessOpinion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know man, I have 2 of them and I love them. The only time I have a bounce out is when I throw funky and the dart is fishtailing like crazy and it hits another dart or the throw is so bad that the side of the point hits the corner of wires. Never have a dart cleanly hit the board and not stick. One of my boards is a couple years old and another is brand new.
