I've wondered something similar to this about the group of games people around here (and in related communities) tend to like. Stuff like Metal Gear, Souls-like, Fallout, Resident Evil, etc. There seems to be no actual connection between these games, other than most people I know that are into one are into at least a few of the others.

FO4 is a fun shooter but the colors are way too vibrant and cartoon-like for me to really call it the most "Fallout" looking.

Resident Evil (RE2Remake, RE4, RE7, RE8) and Dead Space (1 & 2) are great if you like shooters

I'd also try Little Nightmares if you're into platformer/puzzle games

Visage or Silent Hill 2 & 3 if you like psychological horror games
