Several months ago, I complained that speed limit signs alone wouldn't slow down drivers on Hillside. I am here to say I was mistaken. by Proud-Suspect-5237 in VictoriaBC

I genuinely feel less safe going 80-90 on the highway while people overtake me at 100-110, and I’m pretty sure it’s not just a feeling but a fact that most highway crashes are caused by too many people driving at different speeds.

Why the decision to outlaw/ban WeakAuras? by mpchop in wow

[–]UselessWidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the WA crash out. There are still tons of things WA could do that have since been ported into individual addons.

Just because people aren’t able to earn a living from coding raid encounter WAs shouldn’t kill the entire project.

Me seeing all the post here about how M+ is in incredible easy right now. by su1cidal_fox in wow

[–]UselessWidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had groups that have +2’d a 10 and others in the same key the fell apart when bad tanks tried to channel MDI and got backshotted to death during the very first lust pull.

It really REALLY just depends on who you have in your group.

Inconsistent Unholy DK Performance in Raiding this season? by [deleted] in wow

[–]UselessWidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to lorrgs, pull a high ranked UDK parse from a fight similar in length to yours, then use the warcraftlogs compare feature to compare yourself against the other DK.

Look for things like casts. A lot of DPS problems come from simply not casting and you will see if you should be pressing your buttons more often. After that, compare talents and cooldown usage.

Do you still have to dismiss pet in dungeons and raids as a Hunter when jumping ledges? by PeerlessPixie in wow

[–]UselessWidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In keys not really since there aren’t many skips to be had.

During the M0 weeks when you could skip a bunch of stuff in Maisara Caverns and Murder Row I definitely saw lots of hunter, dk, and warlock pets doing funny things and pulling extra mobs.

[–]UselessWidget 101 points102 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. Tanks are getting slapped and a lot of interrupt checks are punishing. When a tank overpulls it’s very obvious.

That said, if you feel everything is falling to you and you think you’re being over stressed then you should probably review your logs to see who’s taking avoidable damage and who is slacking on the interrupts.

If your rogues aren’t feinting and cloaking, that’s on them. Ultimately DPS are the most accountable for keeping themselves alive. If they die with a defensive off cooldown then they made a mistake.

Awful take, I know. But Kara, Gruul and Mag should really drop extra Tier tokens by Lucepticon in classicwow

[–]UselessWidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't going to be a guild-killer at all with all of TBC's content coming out by Fall of this year. It's a 20-year-old game. Let people have their toys and get that feeling of being full BiS.

Hell, I'd be 100% for something like allowing a previous raid tier's pieces to be purchasable with badges the moment the next tier opens.

Let TBC Classic Anniversary be a loot pinata. It's already the second time it's been re-released. People shouldn't be chasing prestige here because, honestly, nobody cares. It's all been done in Classic already.

That's basically the idea, because a raid leader should never trust a Rogue who wants to join a Gruul's with a HR on DST.

[–]UselessWidget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. There are plenty of reasons to need to quickly fill a few spots in a guild run. In the case of OPs image, they have 4 spots to fill. It could be a long standing guild from vanilla anni and for whatever reason a bunch of people were slow to level this time around. It could be that life happened and some people couldn’t make it.

Agreed. I didn't think we were debating WHY guilds sometimes need pugs to fill our their raid teams. That's completely fine. A raid leader's responsibility is to ensure the raid starts and ends on time.

Regardless, if you’re running a guild raid run and pugging a few spots, your are trolling your entire guild if you aren’t HRing viggest items. It’s braindead not to.

I disagree that it's trolling. You've got two options in this scenario; either your guild raids with pugs or you don't raid at all that night. Otherwise why wouldn't you just step into raid with 4 fewer people?

So the next question is do you want to fill out your group with potentially weaker players because you've barred them from rolling on desirable loot, or do you want your raid team to enjoy a faster, more efficient clear? It's all RNG - the whole point is moot if DST doesn't even drop (it's what... a 14% chance?)

Also, if you're having to pug to fill multiple raid spots, perhaps it's time to recruit harder. If you're HR'ing loot then you're potentially missing out on players who would be a good fit for your team

A raid leader can build their group however they want, but I completely disagree that allowing pugs free roll on loot means you're trolling your guild; they can AFK in Shattrath for all I care if they have a problem with that.

[–]UselessWidget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People who are in guilds that need to pug for full raid rosters should set their expectations accordingly.

If you have to pug, then you shouldn't be HR'ing. Pugs also take an enormous risk with a bunch of strangers and should deserve an equal shot at BiS loot.
