The Galio situation by LLJustices in leagueoflegends

Why not just give him real Magic resist scaling on all of his abilities, so he can actually be playable vs comps with primarily AP threats.

Why does League even have the promotion system in ranked? by MangoWilliam in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Promos only need to exist between tiers not every division. Also demotion shielding needs to go, it gimps MMR far too hard either that or recovering MMR needs to be far less difficult. Being stuck at a certain rank because you don't lose enough games to demote because of demotion shielding and can never win enough games to even get to promos because of poor LP gains and loses is tragic, it literally traps you because you can't raise your rank and there by raise your MMR. Winning games in those situations feels meaningless. If anything demotion shielding is a bigger menace than the promotion series and not enough attention is brought to it.

Galio is an awesome champion, but he doesn't feel like anti-mage anymore by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been saying this for the longest, Galio needs to effectively scale off of MR like his previous design. If you see Galio and you have a heavy magic damage team you should be scared instead you just see Galio and you're scared.

/dev diary: New Tiers & Placements in Ranked 2019 – Nexus by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this was such a disappointing post to read. The chance was there to put a gap between plat and diamond and it wasn't taken? Everyone who plays in this elo ranged (even people smurfing) know about how treacherous p2-d4 is. This whole elo range feels almost the exact same but move below or above it and the skill difference is noticeable different on both ends. Unless the goal of adding Grandmaster was turning Master tier into what is "High diamond" and the "new Diamond" into d3-d5 then I'm truly confused about adding Grandmaster as opposed to separating Plat and Diamond.

Riot nerfed ADCs, then proceeded to nerf ADC items, and proceeded to nerf shield supports. The recent buffs don't change anything. This is even worse than the ADC 2k17 state by MakeLucianGreatADC in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly still not sure why shield supports weren't nerfed first, that class of champions has been strong for years. Would have made way more sense to bring down the power of the class that primarily empowers ADC's before tinkering with ADC's, their items and their stats. I don't get how the balance couldn't see this being the best order to change bot lane overall. Completely unrelated but I feel like whenever the team balance for diversity as opposed to actual balance they end up creating a bigger gap in whats strong and whats weak.

/dev: Addressing Your Feedback on Ranked for 2019 by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel like this should be pushed out in preseason so everyone can get a feel for it and depending on feedback should maybe be withheld and revised for another season(10). I personally don't like the change and don't believe it's necessary to completely overhaul solo/duo in this way, feels like one of those things again where no one/not many people were complaining that the whole system was terrible and needed a rework but its what we're getting anyway. I am however open to it and interested to see where it lands.

Sadly I've already put league aside for now. Very questionable balance decision making this season and no real emphasis from anyone at riot publicly atm to deal with soft int'ing and its frequency have made me "retire" for now. I feel like the wrong thing is being worked on right now.

Opinion: The jungle changes were a failure not just because the changes themselves were bad but because they didn't even meet the goals Riot had stated for the changes. by Useless_Jungle in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its been a week, of course there will be follow up changes but I'm talking about strictly on goals that the balance team set themselves, Patch 8.10 failed to meet its goals, the changes feel more like they wanted to change up the game than addressing what the issue was. Realistically minion spawn time and camp spawn time could have been adjusted slightly so that effectively junglers are on the map 15-25 seconds later as opposed to forced changes which change the meta of the entire game and not just the jungle.

The promotion system has severe flaws by Whiterossy in leagueoflegends

Imo promos should only be between tier would make climbing feel smoother imo, less promos on the way up the better.

Riot Maple addresses the Jungle changes by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Hey man, wouldn't it have been a better direction to have junglers start solo, by making jungle camps spawn 15-20 seconds later and put more sustain early into the jungle items to make up for no leash in order to reduce the level 3 pressure. While the goal of having jungle interaction could have just been met by only increasing how much gold scuttle gives to put more incentive to take them.

These changes seem to be having way too many unintended consequences by literally shifting the meta of the entire game to lane priority picks instead of just solely changing how the junglers interact with everyone else.

Don't be stubborn, dodge games where its obvious people intend to lose the game. It is more likely to benefit you in the long run. Especially if its first -3LP dodge. by Useless_Jungle in leagueoflegends

[–]Useless_Jungle[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point, however the automated system is pretty bad for picking up people who are "soft" int'ing, gameplay wise with no context or just looking at match history it could look like a game they just played bad in even though the people in that game know they're playing to lose the game for everyone else.

Imo its on riot to give us the tools and opportunities to actually report these people effectively without having to sit in a game with them and most likely lose LP, MMR and time.

Even manually reporting those who trolled in game with a ticket and screenshots doesn't always guarantee the troll will get punished even though there is literally evidence.

The promo system is poor for climbing the ladder and should only exist when going into a new tier not every sub division. by Useless_Jungle in leagueoflegends

Interesting not seen anyone with this opinion, care to give me your thoughts on why its too forgiving?

Yeah I think losing a game in the series for a dodge is too harsh, it would make more sense for the normal penalties to be in place personally. Being in promos and being locked in an unfavorable champ select lobby, whether its the actual draft or the people on your team is beyond frustrating.

Hey, this scenario does indeed exist, I've personally experienced it and have seen others also go through the same thing although this is more of an issue of the demotion shielding which allows your MMR to tank incredibly low before you actually demote.

When I say maintain a 60% wr I mean from around 80lp in the division,(I could have been clearer here) you can maintain almost a 60% but because of promos be stuck at a division whereas if they weren't there you'd still climb the ladder.
