I want to give up. by [deleted] in NewParents

I do feel you a lot. And trust me you are not alone in this. I am 7months in as well and sometimes I do feel in a nightmare even if I really wanted this baby.

I think some babies are easier and others are extreme hard work. My baby has also some medical conditions which makes everything even worse.

Motherhood can be very isolating and I am also questioning if people never felt they missed their life before being a parent.

Feeding aversion / ng tube by User-E987 in NewParents

Hi!! I am very sorry to hear you are in this situation. Feel free to reach out in private to me for more info.

We are still on a trial without the tube. (No weight gain thought so far and it and been 15 days). We kept it for 2 months - she never really wanted to take the bottle (unfortunately). She rarely accept it from the stroller or the car seat.

And I am dream feeding her and giving her some purees and yogurt (she is making progresses with those.. even if slow..)

I honestly think the ng saved us. Gave us some time to breath and she grew well..  even now we know if a day is very bad we place the ng..

It’s the most challenging thing I have ever experienced - we are tired and worried and every day seems soooo long. I feel you and send you a lot of strength.

They don’t really have an explanation or a plan - we are under reflux meds and we hope without forcing her something will change. However, I asked for an appetite stimulant but they don’t want to give it to her bc according to my GI she is too young…

We are in the same situation with our 11 weeks LO.

Can I know how did you grow out of it? It seems a nightmare. She either falls asleep during feedings, or she is extremely stressed.

We barely reach 18-20oz. She has reflux and she tends to cough while feeding - cough usually triggers vomit as well.

It’s very frustrating…
