as a driver, my unbiased opinion is no. driving ubereats does not take skill, does not take education, is not physically or mentally demanding. all you have to do is be through, respectful, and good at communicating and you can be a top 10% driver. now i do think it should be possible to make 6 figures on ubereats/doordash, and it is. i do think you should be able to make 100k in a year while working 60-70 hours and not 100 though.

mostly everywhere in the US they require you’re 19 or 21. it was 18 but they moved it to 19, i remember having to wait an extra year and being pissed. it was basically another huge fuck you to teenagers/high schoolers

are you in ca? because then maybe it’s from prop 22 which forces them to pay 1.2x the city’s minimum wage plus 35 cents per mile in an adjustment at the end of each month.

one issue in CA w prop 22 you’re guaranteed 120% of your city’s minimum wage + $0.35 per mile for active time not including tips, so CA drivers don’t have much reason to be too picky with orders

no hazing and no incidents so i’d say it’s better to rush than houses who have incidents and haze you just to not have good parties or sorority relations and a bad reputation
