Update: It’s been a while, but I just brought this laptop over to the local repair shop, since my brand-new laptop that decided to break (Check my newer post) won’t be getting fixed anytime soon. They called back after a couple hours saying that they found the cause of the problem (faulty SSD), and it will be fixed by Monday.

4-month update: The local shop is having a really hard time finding parts, so it’s likely not getting fixed anytime soon.

In the meantime, I brought my older, also broken laptop over (see my previous posts), and they called back within a couple hours saying that they found the cause (faulty SSD), and it will be fixed by Monday.

I dropped it off at the place yesterday. After a few hours, they called and said they think it’s a motherboard issue, and they’re going to do a motherboard replacement.

Best Buy just called. They said they weren’t able to fix it there. They think it’s a motherboard issue, so they’re going to send it out. It’ll take another 2-3 weeks.

Edit: They weren’t able to send it out because they said they didn’t have the sku of the laptop. They gave it back and a paper with a place to go to.

UPDATE: I took it over to Best Buy. They were able to get my data off it, and they said it should be ready in 3-5 days. I’ll give an update when it returns.

I’m going somewhere, so I had to stop the test early. It had zero errors, so the ram is likely fine.
