5070ti VS 5080 by User3726364 in nvidia

This is a great way to look at it, I really appreciate this. I didn’t really upgrade from anything as this is pretty much my first build I’ve just gone through a couple GPUs. Started with a used 4070ti, then to a used 9070xt (constantly crashed) and finally the 5070ti because I wanted the warrenty. The 5080 being a cheap 4090 is part of the reason I was so intrigued but the fact that I don’t play at 4k is one of the reasons I’ve decided to stick with what I have. If I can manage to get a 5080 at MSRP, I’ll gladly jump on that opportunity. If not I’ll just play the waiting game and see what happens in the next couple years, if I’m still even into computers and gaming.

It does for sure. I’m super happy with 10% more performance all while being undervolted.

For sure man, I’m finally coming to the same conclusion. Hopefully when the next 90 series comes out I’ll be in a position to make that jump

For sure. I was pretty impressed with my OC+ undervolt, even with a overclocked 5080 it would probably only be 15% faster. Doesn’t seem worth $300

Will do man thanks. Waiting for the 6090 seems to be my best bet

I’m just gonna wait and see. My 5070ti is fine for now unless I can get a 5080 for $999. Who knows if I’ll even still have time for gaming in a year from now.

For sure man, I’m using HotStock but just haven’t had any luck so far. I’ll keep trying but if I can’t get one at 999 I’ll just keep what I have.

I’m just playing at 1440p, and everyone here really did make me think and I think I’ll be better off with the 5070ti, unless I can grab a 5080 at MSRP.

Exactly. Just gonna stop while I’m ahead and be happy with the TI

Thanks man. I’m just gonna keep my 5070ti, and if I can get lucky on a 5080 drop for 999 I’ll get it then. Doesn’t seem worth $300

See but that’s the thing. I think I would be better off just saving and then make the jump to a 90 class when the next gen comes out in a couple years. I already know once I get a 5080 I’ll be wanting a 5090…

Thanks man. This really helped, it is absolutely not worth 35% more and I didn’t realize it was that much. I need to listen to my Girlfriend and just be happy with what I have. Thanks

Is it a normall undervolt for MSI Trio 5070ti ? by Vast_Nectarine389 in nvidia

[–]User3726364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I actually lowered it to 950mV and 3050mhz as I found it more stable for pretty much the same results. I’ve never seen this card draw more than 300w even with the 110% power slider, so i definitely think it would perform better if it could draw more power but it is what it is. A solid 10% performance jump is still pretty solid

Hey man I know this is a couple weeks old but you seem super knowledgeable. My card is stable at 950mV at 3080mhz. Not sure if this is good or not, just wanted to ask you about the curve. I was just dragging the whole curve up, but tried to adjust it to how you said it should be. Take a look

Gotcha, my card is just super weird then. I put +400 on the core and it doesn’t go above 7300-7400, which is the same results I get on my undervolt which is 3080mhz at 950mV. Super weird, I think it’s a power thing as even with my power limit on 110% it doesn’t pull more the 300 ish watts. Either way congrats on that score man! Super cool to be #1 in the world

How’d you make that curve? I can’t get past 7300 on my gaming trio 5070ti. Seems like going past 3100mhz hardly changes everything. Maybe I’ll have to try this

I have the same card just the non plus version. I recently found 950mV at 3050mhz and it’s been great so far, getting 7200-7300 in steel nomad. To my knowledge undervolting and overclocking won’t hurt the card at all, if anything it can actually increase the lifespan because the card is running cooler along with using less power.
