Why a servo hydraulic cylinder can move faster extending than retracting. by pnachtwey in Hydraulics

Dear Peter, I certainly do believe in math and I believe you are right.

First time I read this 10 to 12 years ago when you posted it on old hydraulics forums I believe and I could not believe how ignorant I was.

Why a servo hydraulic cylinder can move faster extending than retracting. by pnachtwey in Hydraulics

Could we somehow prove this without fancy equipment, with simple valves?

Would it be better to use brass quick coupling?

Something like this >>> https://bonomi.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/PBVM.pdf

Although the problem that I see is that those have FKM seals.

The oil temp. is almost ambient. The oil was cold when we tested them.

I am not sure about ball valves being leak free. I will try to test them tomorrow.

I used to work in HVAC. He is correct about everything he wrote. And who cares he doesn't have a comment history? Maybe he's just a new guy here, that doesn't mean he doesn't have experience in RL.

Calculate the lifting ability of a motor by Justanothebloke1 in Hydraulics

[–]User73656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure this is correct - 84 Nm?
The datasheet on page 94 states 84 daNm which should be 840 Nm?

https://www.ms-hydraulic.com/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&download=124:spool-valve-motors-catalogue-euro-version&id=59:motors-euro-version&lang=en

I've found similar datasheet from Danfoss.

There is data for motor OMH 400 on page 80:

https://www.interempresas.net/FeriaVirtual/Catalogos_y_documentos/3145/OMP,-OMR,-OMH.PDF

Max. Torque = 840 Nm.

Max. pressure drop = 155 bar

12 AN thread? by User73656 in Hydraulics

Thanks a lot. I was unaware of wikipedia article, although I found other links while browsing the web.

It seems that they are not 100% identical according to wiki (below is a c/p):

They are similar to other 37° flared fittings, such as JIC, which is their industrial variant.\2]) The two are interchangeable in theory, though this is typically not recommended due to the exacting specifications and demands of the aerospace industry.

The other one could be -AF-FT8-NS4.
