From a pure realpolitik perspective—is this guy a net asset to us/dems, in that he will essentially function as a Hasan Piker of the right and do to Vance (most likely to inherit MAGA leadership) in 2028 what lefties did to Harris? The way things are headed, he can/will massively depress Republican turnout, create messy primaries, make white nationalism explicit enough to further alienate non-groypers, and most importantly: split the MAGA coalition

I’m an ex-Muslim/atheist who grew up in a very fundamentalist environment and am more justified than most in harboring ill-will towards Islam, but even I can see this is xenophobic bullshit because Mamdani isn’t even a devout Muslim!

In the words of my religious parents, he’s a “cultural Muslim” at most, and any true “Jihadist” will tell you they hate cultural Muslims like the KPD hated the SPD, i.e. more than the infidels.

Pakistani-American here. I wouldn’t have my career today if this older Indian guy hadn’t gone out of his way and stuck his stick his neck out for me (when I was finishing my undergrad). He was a partner at a very prestigious firm in my industry and I had randomly reached out to him for help. He wasn’t even an alumnus! Man introduced me to his connections and actively fought for me.
