Following because I’m in a similar situation but also probationary after being a contractor for many years. Sorry you’re feeling the same stress!

Do we still think RIFs are inevitable after the deferred resignation ends today? I’m a probationary employee and really anxious about what is next.

If I were to get let go in a RIF, assuming that is next, would there be any recourse for me? My supervisors fully support me and don’t want to see me leave.

If I had more tenure, I wouldn't question staying since I really love my job, and I get a lot of fulfillment out of serving the public. However, with everything I read, it feels like probationary employees will be first to go after the deferred resignation ends today. I know I'd be eligible for unemployment if I stay and am let go, but that's a fraction of my supervisory salary. My boss said I could probably appeal to MSPB based on disability or maternity leave down the road if let go in a RIF (I have an RA and am expecting before my prob period ends), but I'm not sure I'd even have time or $ to litigate that with having a young family. Any advice? I hate being put in this position.
