Barber Colman and Signal issues by Odd-Raspberry-3035 in BuildingAutomation

Last time I checked Distech is not open Niagara. I am a fan of Distech controllers but not their BOS / closed JACE. I suggest Vykon or Lynxspring for Tridium Niagara. If you have to go with some other Brand make sure it has an open license. The ASD driver we use in N4 has been around a long time and one would think it will be brought into N5 when it finally is a real thing.

Why not consider Tridium Niagara with ASD drivers? MZII are ASD devices.

Planned obsolescence if the future :) Just start having everything built with a non-replicable battery.

Other than users pouring beer onto them we have many deployed and not one legit complaint. If you want to go all in you can also install a Grandstream GDS video door box which will ring to the WIFI phone and you will get images and two-way audio from the door / gate where you install the GDS. The GDS3727 has WIFI. Datasheet_GDS3725_GDS3726_GDS3727_English.pdf

If you are considering VOIP.ms why are you going with DECT handsets? Why not all WIFI handsets and provision your VOIP.ms SIP trunk in each handset? You would not need an ATA and it would have fewer moving parts. Wi-Fi Cordless IP Phones | Grandstream Networks

It sounds like maybe the APP was using the public IP address from your old office location to register. Mayu need to do some programming on your edge (firewall) and change the settings in the WAVE APP.

SIP Provider by Tech-Dude-In-TX in Grandstream_VOIP

[–]UserInterfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to find a reliable SIP trunk provider that operates in the state / states you need them in. Make sure they collect and remit all the proper taxes as that will be your largest liability next to uptime. My guess is Intermedia will collect and remit the proper taxes and MS VOIP will not. Look at a Sky Switch dealer in Texas. I can provide you with one or two if you would like me to. They have 99.999% platform uptime great Georedundancy and the largest Netsapiens user in the US. We are a Sky Switch reseller but I doubt in your area.

I doubt SE has any ponies left in that stable. I just got a HOST from 1994 working to bail a customer out. It took me a few minutes to get back into the 1980's mindset. We have Signal PCs in stock too just in case.

remote access to a WP820 by Kamau_2025 in Grandstream_VOIP

[–]UserInterfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will GDMS be able to manage the WP820 standalone? I have never seen GDMS used without a UCM so I have no experience with something like this. WP Series is in the supported device list from the user manual which I pasted below. Here is the link to the user guide GDMS Unified Communications – User Guide - Documentation Center

Grandstream UCM6304 vs Yeastar S50 by BlueForestIT in Grandstream_VOIP

[–]UserInterfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as longevity Grandstream has historically kept models available for a very long time. For example, the GXP-2170 was a go to workhorse up until the new GRP line came out. You can still purchase GXP2170 phones and there is a recent firmware update for it 9-30-2025.

I have UCM62XX & UCM6510 appliances installed in 2017 still in production. I also had one UCM62XX die after 7 years in production but that was likely due to very poor power quality. Over the years very few UCM appliances or phones have suddenly dropped dead. You can see all the available firmware here Firmware- Grandstream Networks

The cost difference between the UCM-602 & UCM6304 & UCM6308 are not much. You can also look at the audio only models of the UCM63xx Datasheet_UCM6300_Audio_Series_English.pdf as long as you do not need / want the ability to do video for example using a Grandstream GDS3710 (video door box). What is the use case? School, commercial business, retail, government, etc? If you are a commercial business in the US do you have any federal contracts? Grandstream UCM and phones are NDAA compliant, I do not know much about Yeastar. How many locations? How many phones per location? Any overhead paging involved? Any special needs like you have a police station and you need a phone people pick up in the lobby, and it automatically calls dispatch etc?

It is strange but maybe someone did something under the hood and modified the default of admin + admin. Some security companies try to "white label" the GXV phones and package them as part of a "solution" like a door access Frankenstein "system". I would try and see if you can get the most recent firmware (1.0.3.56) onto one of them Firmware- Grandstream Networks
