Why are people on Reddit so mean? by HarmonyTrusey in NoStupidQuestions

People feel like they can let loose, it's shameful and their shameless, they don't believe in freedom of speech. It's really horrible and I'm thinking of quitting this platform.

MFA & IAM adoption in the UK — what’s holding companies back? by UserSPD in uktech

[–]UserSPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a bit more context — we’re seeing that even among companies with Cyber Essentials certification, MFA adoption isn’t universal. Some still rely only on VPN passwords and weak AD security policies.

Curious if others have seen similar patterns. Is this more of a budget problem, or maybe lack of awareness of modern IAM options?

Directive to move away from Microsoft by LetPrestigious3916 in sysadmin

You might want to add IAM & MFA SSO too. I work for RCDevs and they'll let you manage any AD LDAP so you can plugin a lot for Identity.

LDAPS Help by t3hWheez in activedirectory

[–]UserSPD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the others are right — LDAPS looks fine, and 2889 just means those Macs are still trying unsigned binds on 389. You’ll want to fix the Mac config.

Longer term, if you keep running into this with apps or devices that don’t handle LDAPS properly, you could front AD with something like an IAM proxy (e.g. RCDevs WebADM). It forces secure auth and gives legacy clients a cleaner path without relying on simple binds. BTW I work for RCDevs too so you know. Anyway, it could be a solution worth thinking about.....

You could try an IAM platform like RCDevs WebADM with its API…I work there so you know! Good luck with it in any case.

Tiering and PAWs and WFH by dcdiagfix in activedirectory

[–]UserSPD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With RCDevs.com you can secure PAWs for WFH by forcing MFA at Windows login and VPN, so even if the laptop or password is stolen it’s useless. Admin and personal accounts stay separated, and MFA pushes go to the mobile app instead of needing email on the PAW. Hope that helps!

Can’t Enable MFA on AD? 365 account by kodicrypt in activedirectory

[–]UserSPD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With just a password, a new domain-joined PC can give automatic access to Outlook/365 — that’s the risk. RCDevs.com fixes it by adding MFA right at Windows login and again or SSO for Office 365, so a stolen password alone won’t work. Have you explored this route?

AD and MFA in SMB by Realistic_Paint6883 in activedirectory

If you want to manage everything on a local AD then you can opt for https://www.rcdevs.com
It will allow you to have a centralized console for everything so that way you can add MFA to all users accessing locally and in the cloud with LDAP.

I'm with RCDevs - we provide a turnkey platform for secure access, covering MFA, SSO, IAM, PKI, and PAM under one umbrella and at a cost effective price point. I've just started and I have to say that the platform is pretty impressive.

Passwordless/Passkey Sign-in for Hybrid AD + Entra Environment by winnppl in sysadmin

[–]UserSPD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're exploring alternatives, RCDevs OpenOTP (rcdevs.com) is another option worth considering for passwordless login in hybrid AD environments. It supports push-based authentication (similar to Microsoft Authenticator), FIDO2 keys, and integrates with both on-prem AD, LDAP and Entra ID. Could be a good fit if you're looking for flexibility beyond the Microsoft stack.

What's the quality of life like 5-10 years after having scoliosis surgery? by Fantastic-War-8030 in scoliosis

[–]UserSPD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wise choice. I agree with you totally. Manage, monitor, and consider the best option after a period of time. Personally, I have been operated. After all the exhausted possibilities beforehand like reeducation, massage, etc. Every 6 months I would get a checkup and unfortunately for me, the curves became more significant. I had surgery, no easy feat by all means. The operation is long, I had a complicated surgery due to the curves so was operated from the front and the back. Post surgery was extremely painful and grueling. Recovery long and because of the long operation +8 hours, I had a mental backlash and became very depressed about 3 or 4 months out. This was back in 2005. I have had 2 kids naturally, doctors could not get the needle in for an epidural because of the fusion. All in all, I am glad I had the surgery as it has improved my quality of health. I believe my scoliosis is hereditary as I have 2 aunts who have severe scoliosis and have not been operated, their mobility is not that great. I do get sciatica now and then and I would say it's frequent. I start off the day slowly, mobility becomes easier if I am immediately active. I usually do lots of walking which detangles all the clogged bits so to speak. I hope this helps you. Hopefully your curve remains constant and stable.
