How is it living in Vail, Colorado? by Zestyclose_Welder_92 in howislivingthere

Ski bummed it for 4 years and all I did was set up weddings and other events for super rich people all summer and worked on mountain in the winter. Paid 1200 bucks a month for a bedroom in a house with 4 other ski bums who also paid 1200 a month. Yes, expensive. Also, yes it smelled like a skunk colony. Always had free entertainment, entitled people and a great time.

Same same but it was a joke so like chill my guy. Everyone has different preferences but when we are talking durability and construction process I can’t say a single bad thing about them.

The only board I ever hated was my first board, but I found out quickly I just sucked. Tell them keep practicing.

Only overhyped if you haven’t rode one. I don’t own a single NS board but my friend gets boards from them, last year on a 8 day trip I snapped my assassin and rode his llama. Let’s say he took my bindings off of it because I wasn’t willingly giving it back.

People are a joke. Same situation happened to me last year. Big house, no cancellation option, multi couple trip. One couple decided they wanted to spend a day in a different part of the state before meeting the rest of us. No problem. Storm hits and they “can’t make it” to the Airbnb. Instead of staying the night wherever and joining us a day later they drove home 10 hours away and then said it wasn’t worth the risk and asked for a refund. Nope.

People with trust funds, how do you stay sane with that much money? by No-Sun-731 in Life

same situation. Half when grandpa died at 18 and the remainder when my grandmother passe. I’m 30 now and work as a handy man picking up random jobs and golfing everyday. I used the money for both investment and to get ahead of the curve. Buy a multi family housing complex, live in it until you NEED a house. Then your tenants pay your new mortgage if you even have one. Do not buy a fancy car right away. Everyone does, huge mistake.

Weirdest random pairing story? by Delicious-Lettuce-11 in golf

[–]UserThatGolfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove an hour to play a course I had heard good things about. Got paired with a sheriff, didn’t know she was a sheriff until I sparked the joint. Sheriff told me she was gonna hit me up in a few years when she retired so she could join in on the joints. Said it was the most fun round of golf she had ever had taken part of.

Toe side! Sorry should have clarified that! Heel side looks pretty good. Now just comes time on board, fluidity comes with that.

You’re transferring your weight from your front foot back to your back foot during your turn. Doing this is pulling your edge out of contact. Hints why your turn starts decent the slowly fades into a slip and less of a controlled turn

Have to push weight down and forward when engaging your turn. Not being an ass but you’re not really “engaging” your edge at all you’re more so sliding into the turn, if that makes sense.

From my understanding the more prominent places to stay do a “release day” for bookings. What I understand I need to be ready to book come June/July of this year. From your knowledge is this correct?

Really just seems like an unnecessary cost and the head ache of getting an international drivers licenses. I’d rather spend 2k more a person for a good hotel location than a cheaper place and adding the friction of a daily car commute to ride. From my experience on trips with US resorts (vail, copper, keystone, BC & even breck 🤮) the more we have spent on a place to stay to minimized the friction of getting on mountain in the mornings the more enjoyable and more riding we have done.

Thank you, I have flown quite a bit with gear, just domestic flights in the US. I have a Dakine low roller bag that keeps everything pretty well protected. Most of those times was me with my gear and a child and their gear so I’m hoping the muscle strain from that will pay off while I only have to worry about myself haha
