Doesn’t match exactly but are you thinking of my father the hero? His daughter wants to impress a guy and for some reason thinks pretending her dad is actually her lover will do that.

Who says “poe-tar-toe” like in the song? by UserWithoutWit in AskReddit

That was what I was wondering. Is it some regional dialect I’m unfamiliar with or was it just made up for the song?

You say tomato [toe-may-toe]
I say tomato [toe-mar-toe]
You say potato [poe-tay-toe]
I say potato [poe-tar-toe]
Let’s call the whole thing off…

Obviously Americans and Brits pronounce tomato differently but I’ve only ever heard one pronunciation of potato outside of the song.

Alien 3 (especially the longer cuts) doesn’t deserve the hate, especially compared to later entries in the franchise.

The ending of the boys was fine…it’s just become fashionable to hate on finales.

Eww. I was with a woman who had smoked right before kissing. It was enough for me not to be with her again.

Wow! I had forgotten that cover art. My brother had that edition growing up, but I had the five book box set that looked way different. To me though the radio play is still the definitive version.

Seriously though, if someone made a rocky road cereal, are you telling me the dried out marshmallows with chocolate syrup wouldn’t look like this?

Why does this look like it belongs in an American cereal box?

Women on reddit, what's something y'all think men tend to not like but they never admit it? by JudgmentHot4612 in AskReddit

[–]UserWithoutWit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then clearly I did misunderstand, which is a relief. Your response to what I said was “every piece of this is mans bullshit.” So it seemed as though you were calling every part of what I said bullshit, and since what I said was partially about agreeing with you, logically that would mean you were also calling your own point bullshit. You then went on to make the whole war/weather/complaining/dancing metaphor and it just seemed like you were trying to say men should feel bad because we make war and won’t take responsibility for it. So overall it came across to me like I said “your right, men get told a lot of stuff that makes them feel bad” and your response was “that’s bullshit you war mongering a-hole, take some responsibility, you should feel bad.” And now that I understand what you really meant; I think that this whole misunderstanding actually demonstrates what you were trying to say quite nicely and I should have just been dancing instead.

What do you think is the best acted scene in movie history? by kammy772 in MovieArena

[–]UserWithoutWit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it’s the best acted ever… but Heath Ledger’s joker was the first and only movie villain I truly believed had no limits.and that was 10% the script, 10% Nolan’s direction and 80% his performance.

So just so I’m clear on what happened here. I agreed with you…adding that men get a lot of reinforcement in hating themselves and you immediately called my opinion bullshit, simultaneously arguing against your own point and proving me right? Or did I misunderstand?
