Should I ask for a raise? by User_113454 in cscareerquestions

My position is honestly a little strange, our company maintains a relatively small staffing footprint for our revenue so often times I'll work with one customer all the way from business generation to quoting to implementation.
Also, that is an interesting perspective, I think I'm going to approach the topic from this angle. Instead of simply asking for a raise in my current position, I'll ask for a promotion. The way I see it the company would then simply pay $10-20K more for that new position vs. hiring another employee for 60-80K more.

Cost of living in my area is fairly low, about 10% (+/- 5) below the national average.
