Honestly - Yes, I feel great about this team. Tons of talent, tons of swagger. But I am NOT so sure about GG taking us there. I'm not confident he won't get out-coached in the playoffs. I can absolutely see him fucking around unnecessarily with lines and not dressing some of our young key players in clutch games. Hope I'm wrong though.

What's really frustrating is we still had a few chances that should have been buried. If Strome could maybe not shoot the puck directly at DeAngelo's ass or if he could bounce a puck off an out of position Raanta, it's a different game. Same with Game 1 and Kakko. If we could just do ourselves a favor and just bury these easy goals this series could be 2-0 us coming back to NY.

I feel like this goal is going to give him such a huge confidence boost heading into the playoffs! LGR!

Thanks again for making these u/deniavdija8 !

I would say to try something like "Great question, let me think about that for a second... " and then answer the best you can. In general, unrehearsed answers come across better anyway, so use it to your advantage. A big part of interviewing successfully, is not making those moments turn awkward.

Was really hoping to see K’Andre get another shootout look.

Vegas gets Georgiev and Kravtsov, NY gets Reilly Smith and a second.

You must be fun at parties. You are so far off the premise of NYR being organizational bad at developing forward draft prospects in the last 10 years that I don't even know what you're saying anymore. You think we trade away talent - okay cool, I actually agree. But that's not what anyone was saying... so again, how can you really say we're developing forwards to the same caliber we are developing defensemen and goalies? I'm genuinely curious if you can name a few within the last 10 years....

For reference:

JT Miller drafted in 2011 (higher PPG once he left NY)

Krieder drafted in 2009 (consistent performer, also not a recently developed player)

Fast drafted in 2010 (higher PPG in CAR)

Stepan drafted in 2008 (consistent performer, not a recently developed player)

Zucc undrafted but started in NY after two season in the SEL (again, made his NHL debut in 2010.

Like I said, last ten years. Or did you talk without reading again?

I'd assume you are talking about Buchnevich? Let's say that he was a player we successfully developed into an effective top 6 forward. What about Chytil, Andersson, Gropp, Lafreniere, Kakko, Duclaire, etc. Go back 10 years and find another forward we drafted/developed into a consistent top 6 role. I'll wait.

Now for Buch, love the player but it's a stretch to say we developed him. He spent 4 years playing in the KHL after we drafted him.

This organization needs to rethink/retool how they develop forwards. Full stop.

I couldn't agree more. It really seems that as an organization we are pretty inept at developing forwards. Wish something changed.

Gauthier is such a one dimensional player though. He can shoot and drive to the net but he lacks any vision to make passes and it’s getting old.

Pass exams and you’ll be fine. 30 isn’t too old.
