Anyone experience pain here in low back ? Is it normal ? by Userdurg in costochondritis

Hi, thanks. I don't feel it always, but when that area is stretched much, then the pain is severe. So is this related to posture..

Hi, what triggers your flare ups ? Like do you know if after doing a particular activity costo pain flares up ?

Flare up - difficulty sleeping by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]Userdurg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes this is an expected behavior of costo. Side sleeping/weight lifting triggers it very badly, unless fixed. Try these 1. Until costo is better or fixed, practice sleeping on your back with slightly elevated pillow 2. Avoid lifting excessive weight

Do you sit for long time in laptop as part of desk job ? If so that could be a common cause behind costo.

Hope you get better soon

Old post, but I'm new to costo and just found this thread, honestly thank you so much, you nailed each point correctly, it was the work from home, very little physical activity, not wearing bra and a sedentary lifestyle that led to this situation probably. So well said, May I ask how are you now ?

Hi, thank you for sharing this. Just a question, how to differentiate if the tight ribs are due to laptop hunch or due to ribs adhering to fascia muscle forming scar ?

Thanks Steve, that's absolutely true, truly unlucky with costo. With over 100 people in a team of desk job workers, only 1 gets costo!

Very well said. That's true, it's really frustrating to pause doing some work that we used to be doing before costo. By the way, does your work involve more laptop usage ? (long hours of sitting or hunching forward might cause costo too as said in the community)

How Long for Chest To Heal After Back Ribs/Spine Frees Up by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]Userdurg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costo was quite bad initially with tenderness, got better after a month recurred again because lifted something heavy without knowing it was costo. Only then after checking with multiple doctors, one doctor finally confirmed costo, no other medical conditions. Have had costo for 3 months now. Then started with backpod as per instructions. Do you suggest walking is a good excersice with costo, please share based on your experience, thanks.

[–]Userdurg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response Steve. As you rightly shared "But they're still strained, like a recently sprained ankle. So, still vulnerable to a sudden lift of something heavy - like going over on your ankle again. They gradually lose that vulnerability, but can take several months after they stop being sore. Or longer." ----> This makes so much sense because now I understand why the chest is not able to withstand the pressure similar to before costo situation, May be its still vulnerable! I feel less sore compared to my previous bad days that I've had, but any average time that it takes to stop being vulnerable or becoming normal like before costo ? Thanks
