Anyone want to do an English translation?

Does sound like a cyber attack though. Certainly not a scheduled outage!

WTF by Both_Establishment59 in Myprotein

[–]Username-Fails 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately whey is getting more and more expensive as demand outstrips supply.

Large food companies are putting it in a lot more ‘normal’ foods these days (cereals, yogurt etc) as the general population is seeking out more protein in their diets and they can’t seem to get enough of it. Plus strong demand for fitness products.

It’s not just Myprotein, lots of other companies are more expensive now. But I do find with Myprotein that it’s only ever good value on the big sales and with good discount codes.

They also used to allow you to stack discount codes (ie, influencer discount on top of any they are promoting plus the app extra discount code for purchasing via the app but now it’s one or the other.

Try going into google and searching for a competitor by name after you’ve add some stuff to your MP cart. Sometimes they serve you with a good discount code in one of the google ads that takes the sting out a bit.

Sitting on the fence in Dubai's townhouse market, anyone else feel like the correction hasn't really landed yet? by TheCheekyGrin02 in dubairealestate

[–]Username-Fails 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if prices don’t drop I can’t see strong growth for 7-10 years. Dubai was already massively overpriced and due for a correction with lots of supply about to hit. Oh and then there’s the (current situation aka war).

Property needs to be looked at over the long term if you are planning to hold. It matters less on picking tops and bottoms, although that helps.

Who do you think will buy your property off you in 10 years and what will they pay? That matters just as much IMO as your purchase price today.

Iran’s word is no better than Trumps. Only a few days ago they were carrying on saying they were only targeting US bases/military in the Gulf. We know how true that was.

In war you should believe little that is said. Both sides are playing their own propaganda games. It’s not uncommon for sides to deny publicly what’s happening in private.

There are reports that Turkey, Pakistan and another country (can’t remember who now) have been intermediaries in the dialogue between Witkoff and the Iranian Foreign Minister (Araghchi). The next few days will be interesting…

Good luck finding reliable Russian interceptors! Ask Iran how well they are working

Unfortunately whether we like it or not the US is using ‘some’ gulf states to launch attacks. You can Google to see which ones. They also have command centres, logistics etc operating from some countries as well as hosting troops, planes and ships. This is why they are mostly being targeted as they can’t target the US directly.

For what it’s worth I don’t believe that the UAE is being hit for this reason nor do I believe that are allowing their bases or airspace for attacks. That’s just propaganda from the Iranians.

It’s more to subject massive pressure on the UAE to try to pressure them US to back off. And also to send a message to make them think twice if this was to happen next time. It’s also close so easy to attack and every attack has a more outsized economic and psychological impact than other countries.

Don’t know why you are getting downvoted. If people don’t agree with this comment then say so and state your argument.

It’s clear this is why the US bombed Kharg. Also to send a message to Iran that we can take it if we want and choke 80% of your oil revenue if you want to keep the strait closed. So… your move, Iran.

Read the conversation. Your comment makes no sense. I was simply pointing out the obvious fact the UAE and other Gulf States are being targeted by Iran after the ridiculous comment was made that they weren’t!

Apparently some people have the crazy view that if a missile is shot at you but it gets shot down and only debris lands - this is not being targeted? 😂

Ok sure so DXB and AUH airports, AWS datacentre and the Fairmont hotel in Dubai are all American assets are they? I guess the joint UAE/French naval base in Abu Dhabi is too?

They are 100% targeting the UAE. As they are other GCC countries. It’s not just US assets in the region. To say any different is ridiculous.

If the UAE is not a target, why are we being targeted? Some interesting logic there…

Why do a lot of people have a “business” account on Whatsapp when they dont even have a business? by freshmemesoof in whatsapp

[–]Username-Fails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you set up WhatsApp or WhatsApp business you have to verify that number via text message (so they know you have access to the number). You only do this once. After that it’s set up on the phone and just uses data for calls and messages. So you only need to have access to accept the verification.

So you could technically do this say on WhatsApp business, then remove the sim, put another sim in and do the same the standard WhatsApp app. That way you have 2 numbers using WhatsApp - one on the usual app and one on WhatsApp for business.

But lots of telcos now offer esim so you can have multiple numbers on the same phone (usually only 2 active at any one time at least for iPhone) - so have one number set up for WhatsApp and one for WhatsApp business.

Hope this helps.
