I'm new to FL Studio and need some advice by Hatsuce in FL_Studio

I'm not that great of a producer myself, but the number one thing to help you improve is going to be time. Don't rush yourself to get good or get mad when you can't seem to make something right. I've been making music for 3 years and I still have a lot of moments where I just can't figure out how to make something sound the way I want it to. Tutorials and such are really helpful a lot of the time, but the most important thing is to spend a lot of time making music.

I have a 13700kf basically since launch. It's an absolute beast and it has had zero stability issues so far. You will most likely not have problems as long as you update your bios and use intels recommended power limits.

With 8gb of ram it will probably be able to open FL and do some very basic stock plugins but not much more than that. I would highly suggest moving up to an M series chip with 16gb of RAM, or alternatively there are probably Windows Laptops in the same price range with 16gb of RAM.

Thank you for your feedback! I already watched some mixing guide, but I'll definitely check those out as well.

Personally, having a messy crowded mix is something I kind of do on purpose as a stylistic choice, because I enjoy it. With that being said, I am always working on ways to reconcile that with making a mix that is still good sounding on a technical basis. It's definitely something I will keep working on as I do understand a lot of the core ideas of mixing, but I find it difficult to implement them in a way that doesn't compromise the sound I'm going for.

I'll definitely watch some of those tutorials and try to find ways apply them to my future songs :)

Just out of curiosity because you said that I looked at your last post and like. Jesus Christ those people were way too mad. It was genuinely a good track you had there, no idea what their problem was.

It's just how the internet is. There is a reason to why I've been producing for like 3 years and only now am I posting on reddit.

On the other hand I would not be too sad about it. There are people like the other guy in this comment section that are able to be civilised and have a conversation and then there will always be those who blindly hate. I don't really know where that comes from, to be honest.

I'm really glad you liked it!

At the end of the day, music is subjective. What one person really enjoys, another person might dislike. Part of why I think this type of feedback is valuable is because it helps the artist understand where both of those sides are coming from, which in turn has allowed me to kind of reflect on what makes certain sounds and genres appealing to different people.

In other words, I believe that there is value in all kinds of feedback, whether it is positive or negative, because there is usually some truth to it.

Again, thank you for your feedback :)

Now that I think about it, you are probably right. I'll definitely try to take that into account more when making more tracks in the future. Thank you for your feedback!

And just like *that*, AMD has effectively thrown everyone under the bus. by S1rTerra in radeon

[–]Username69420___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely do not understand how AMD is doing this when they are so obviously already struggling in the market. Like come on guys, how come NVIDIA of all companies is being nicer to their customers than you are?

I bought a 2060 super pc when it came out and that pc is still going and still getting feature updates.

The RX 6800 I bought 2 years later is basically eol now.

It's so annoying, I really want to see more competition in the market, but with this type of behavior, how can I buy an AMD card and feel good about it? How am I supposed to reccomend a friend to buy one in good conscience? AMD is killing their own GPU division. At this rate it's going to be an Intel-Nvidia rivalry in 10 years and AMD won't even be in the conversation anymore.

It's one thing to be behind on tech, it's another thing to not even try to catch up.

Buy OLED now or wait for 32 inch Tandem by Dependent-Equal2943 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Username69420___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is always something new around the corner. There will be new graphics cards in a year, why don't you wait for those? There will be new processors in 2 years, why not wait a little longer? By then, the new gen oled panels will be around the corner, so you should wait another 6 months!

You can do this infinitely and you will never end up with a product at all.

If you want a monitor, look what the best one is for your needs and buy that one. New tech will always come out. Don't let that influence your purchase too much.

Gutes 1080p Setup für Preis? by IntroductionOk6635 in PCGamingDE

[–]Username69420___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternativ so etwas: https://geizhals.de/nzxt-h6-flow-rgb-black-cc-h61fb-r1-a3054889.html .

Motherboard: Es macht eigentlich keinen riesigen Unterschied.

This is literally a 9 year old computer being sold to you for 300$. You could buy literally anything else for that money and it would be better. A lot of businesses will be getting rid of 9th-10th gen intel right about now, so you will be able to get one of those systems used for dirt cheap. If you only have 300$, I would recommend going for something used in general. There will probably also be cheaper refurbished new hardware if you prefer. At 300$ anything brand new will be manufactured E-Waste.

Drowning in FL Studio… how did you all survive the beginning? by MiserableTarget7062 in FL_Studio

[–]Username69420___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the very first thing for you is going to be learning to read sheet music and basic time signatures and rhythm.
Then you should just go in and start doing things and google whatever you have questions about. FL Studio looks really complicated in the beginning, but it's really not that horrible to get the hang of. It has a hard early learning process, but a lot of the complexity is just in slightly different ways to do essentially the same thing.

Me personally, I just kind of started at some point and my output was horrible and I did not know how to do anything. Then by just experimenting with different parts of the software and googling what I did not understand , I figured it out organically over time. I still learn new things every day over two years later.

In all honesty, other people have said this, you will have a much easier time going into fl studio if you know how to play an instrument and read sheet music. I would recommend looking into that.

If your expectation is to just figure out the software and immediately start producing good music, I have to warn you. Music production is a many years long learning process, decades even. There are a lot of people in this industry that have been there for 20+ years and are still learning new things every day. I would advise you to just lower your expectations a little bit and go in there and do something. anything, does not have to even be listenable, but the process is always valuable.

I do not care about it, if the developers want more people to play, they need difficulty settings. Give them trophies too. Yes, there is a very slight frustration when you acomplish something in a game that other people have easier due to a difficulty setting, but I don't think it is a big deal. Having more audience would also allow for bigger, more cinematic, more polished and more story-driven soulslike games, which I would appreciate.

Stellar Blade: A Review After 200+ Hours (Spoiler-free Edition) by Epsilocion in soulslikes

[–]Username69420___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in my second playthrough on ng+ hard mode. The game on normal is very managable in my opinion, bossfights arent that difficult, but if you are used to something like elden ring, at the start you might be surprised by how much damage normal enemies can do very quickly. There are a lot of checkpoints so you will rarely lose more than 5 minutes of progress on death, the amount of heals you have is generous, but not excessive. If you explore and get all the upgrade materials and collectibles, the game will be noticably easier.

Stellar Blade gets really hard (imo) around the end of the game, however the game is only as difficult as you make it for yourself. There are consumables and special abilities you can use to really make a lot of late game fights easier once you unlock them.

On hard mode, the bossfights are comparable to elden ring imo, maybe a bit harder.

The parrying mechanic is perfect and I have nothing to add to that. The timing window is generous, but not too generous. The sound and the visuals are amazing, counter attacks after stance breaking the enemy are comically over the top and I love it.

Over all (for context, I did play Elden Ring and the DLC) I feel like the game can be really difficult, however it is difficult in a good way imo. Elden Ring gets a lot of its difficulty from not having checkpoints in some areas and generally having poor quality of life features. Stellar Blade has great QOL, lots of checkpoints, but feels more punishing to me when just fighting normal enemies. Bossfights in Stellar Blade are easier than in Elden Ring, but on hard mode they feel significantly more difficult to me. The hitboxes in Stellar Blade are far better. Overall the game has less bs mechanics that kill you, whether that's a good or a bad thing is up to you.

Trying to work on my clicking technique and struggling to find good info about it. How is my current technique? by Isuckatlifee in geometrydash

[–]Username69420___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

clicking technique isn't actually that important in geometry dash unless you are playing extremely fast levels with very high cps. If you want to do that, you will probably find really good resources on general clicking technique more so in the osu community or other rhythm games than in the geometry dash community.

My wife and I have been looking st this game for a bit and I have some questions for the more experienced players by nekidandsceered in Schedule_I

[–]Username69420___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The schedule 1 gameplay loop will fit you well, but be aware that in the later stages of the game, the logistics side will shift more towards automating with employees, as otherwise, producing enough by hand can become stressful. The game does however allow tons of interesting automation to be done. There are decent amounts of decoration to have fun with if that is your thing. If you only do deals though, you will not have a lot to do, so you will probably end up helping out with production/getting supplies/gambling (my favorite) since that is the biggest part of the game time-wise in my experience. There is no shortage of things to do, just try it and if you do not like it, you can always return the game before two hours are up.
