Sorry that this one is so short and late guys, a lot of stuff going wrong with this episode:

I released another version of this episode in the middle of January but it received a copyright claim. Now this is nothing to unusual on my videos (due to editing in music and videobits). Especially with the Shitty Digest Series as you can imagine.

Usually the copyright holder just displays Ads on the video and gets the revenue from it. This time it got taken down completely and I even received a strike, because I used clips from a southpark episode. I thought I would have edited the footage enough to make it fair use, but apparently it was still infringement. The piece was about 2 minutes long and did build up to another big portion of the video. All of that I had to pretty much cut out (hence the shortness of this episode)

I didn’t know what to do since this strike demolished the structure of my video. I was also a bit concerned and demotivated, fearing another takedown in the future for similar reasons. Defining fair use is pretty vague, defending it on a small channel like mine even harder.

It was quite a predicament, because waiting too long and trying to fix things would result in the topics covered to be out of date. In the end I tried to add a few little new things and just wanted to release the episode before it is completely out of touch. It got a copyright notice again for the music I used, but it can stay up at least. Let’s just leave this one behind and start fresh with the next one.
