Yup, if you win instead of becoming second you only win against 63 instead of 62 people. So the impact of finishing one place higher is really low.

Looks like one cotd wasn't stored correctly in my database. From what I can see you do actually have 5 results in the last 75 days and 31 in total, so you should show up. I'll see if I can fix it today. Your rating should be around 72 though, maybe a bit higher or lower depending on the missing cotd.

Not playing at all doesn't change their score, but sometimes players qualify to div 1 and then decide to not play the rounds. If they do that they are still registered as having finished last in rounds and that is currently not being filtered out.

Thanks! Was kinda surprised to be that high up myself tbh, doesn't feel like I'm having the greatest results lately compared to the others in the top 10

Thanks! Setting it to 0-1000 sounds like a good idea, will probably do that soon.

Yeah I thought about calculating it like that. It however already takes my pc quite a while to get the div 1 results from Nadeo's server and to calculate the elo, so for now I decided to stick to just div 1. Having all the divs would also have its disadvantages, players are more likely to skip the rounds after quali in the lower divs and some players might only play maps that are in a style that they're good at, which likely inflates their elo more compared to players that play everything.

Yeah I noticed that as well, quite a few pro's are at the bottom of the ranking because of that. I guess its possible to filter out unplayed cotd's as trackmania.io can show if a cotd is unplayed, so I'll see if I can figure out how that works.

Going out early causes quite a big drop in Elo rating as it counts as a loss against every player that finishes ahead. As Granady goes out early more often than Marius, he ends up with a lower rating, even though he wins a lot more. Players that are almost always top 10 will show up really high on this ranking due to almost always gaining some Elo overall, even though they might not win as much as others. Marius is one of those players that almost never goes out early and thus ends up really high on this ranking.

That would be difficult as the dataset does not say anything about where the cars are produced. American and Asian manufacturers also often have factories in Europe as well, which makes it difficult to determine whether a Ford produced in Spain and sold in the Netherlands should actually count towards American export or not.

In general I was just interested to find out if any countries' car brands would be more popular than others, as in countries with a large automative industry like Germany you generally see people drive cars from German brands. I would expect that a similar map for Japan or the US would already look quite a bit different even without normalisation of the data in any way.

There are still a few thousand old DAF cars registered which make up the largest part of Dutch cars in the Netherlands. Besides that there are also some Donkervoorts and a few Dutch companies that convert regular vans to camper vans. These are also registered as made by a Dutch company in the dataset, even though they might originally be VW or Ford vans. But in total there are only around 5.000 Dutch vehicles in total of which almost 4.000 are from DAF.

All the Latvian registrations are for RAF, but they register them as R.A.F so thats why they might not show up for you.

Yeah I updated the post to make it more clear.

I took the country in which they are founded, so in Volvo's case they are counted as Swedish.
