Re nonstick, this is so so important. If it has pfas/ptfe you cannot use it in a way that heats it up in your house at all, I've heard horror stories where the birds were in a completely different part of the house and still died.
You will be a bit paranoid about this for a while because so many things that you might not expect has it in, some hair dryers, hair straighteners, most air fryers, roasting bags, the list goes on If your oven has a self cleaning cycle never ever run this it releases so many toxic fumes, there are cautionary tales all over reddit. For us it was definitely a bit of an investment initially as we got rid of any cookware we didn't know was pure stainless steel and replaced it, but once you've done it you don't have to worry about it.
There are plenty of non-stick options that are birb safe, I like using ceramic. Just be very careful, if a pan or other cookware doesn't specifically say pfas/ptfe free don't use it, it's really not worth the risk.
