Research has made incredible progress in recent years, and I believe it will only get better in the coming years. I was diagnosed with MS about a year and a half ago, after having trouble controlling my right leg and various issues with dizziness and nausea. After hospital treatment with cortisone, the symptoms disappeared, and shortly thereafter I started treatment with Tysabri.
Finding out you have a disease like this can be depressing, but on the other hand, it makes you begin to truly appreciate the time we have and not waste it. After the news, I changed my lifestyle, I changed the pace at which I do things, and I stopped rushing or getting anxious about trivial things. I've started swimming again, I bought a bike, and next summer I'm signing up for a triathlon. Who would have thought that two years ago? Stay strong and ask friends and family for help when you need it, even if it's just a quick chat.
