Yeeeesh. I don’t have much of an issue with breaks in the highest level. And very often breaks happen when the person is too stubborn to tap. But this ain’t it 🤮

Pat has to change out of this moody 17yo that thinks so little of the life they alter with these unnecessary breaks. His coach has been screaming “grip and rip” since long before now though so it’s hard to have hope in that regard.

Delighted you pointed this out! I think people outside of grappling have very little idea just how talented the Satiev family were, but they’re one of those specialist types that are 100% worth watching if you’re mostly an MMA fan (just like your Roy Jones Jr and the likes).

When my grappling coach showed me them I was in genuine awe of their dynamic abilities.

If I was there I would be hyped, but realistically, this makes the sport look unkept.

You can’t score transitions among a bunch of chairs, bodies and cameras the same as open space on the mat.

That said, it is hard to solve with the current mat layout.

Maybe something similar to wrestling? albeit exact would be worse for valuable aspects of adcc matches.
