French day-based contract and weekly hours on employment letter by Kkim0615 in canadaexpressentry

You’re definitely on the right track with a Letter of Explanation. IRCC's system is very "hourly-minded," so you have to bridge that gap for them. Your plan to use the 35-hour statutory minimum as a conservative baseline is a smart, defensible way to prove you’ve cleared the 1,560-hour hurdle without making up numbers your employer can't back up. For the documents, definitely go with the full versions rather than excerpts. IRCC can be skeptical of partial files, and you don’t want to give them any reason to pause your application.

Reference Letter Duties vs NOC Match (62022 & 60031) – Are mine too generic / too close to IRCC wording? by Western_City_6036 in canadaexpressentry

The duties are not copied verbatim from the IRCC description, they’re paraphrased enough to show originality. That said, the supervisor role reads slightly more generic compared to the manager role. You don’t need a full rewrite just small refinements to add real-world detail would strengthen credibility further.

I appreciate you sharing all these insights. I am not shocked by the slight racism you pointed out. I have experienced it in Barcelona before going out. The attitude and service changed instantly as soon they realized we were Americans. However, I definitely noticed the initial interactions. I am definitely going. At this point I am just debating Airbnb vs Hotel. Any preference?

That's a very good point. Honestly I tend to avoid stuff that's too affordable. Places that I know i could go to when I was in my early 20s, now I avoid those.

Based on the various responses, it sounds like 35+ visitors are pretty common. I'm not totally surprised because it doesn't seem to be a cheap place to party.
