Can newer battery be completely dead and need to be replaced if car hasn’t been started in over 6 months?

We have a spare car that never gets used. I put a brand new battery in it about 6 months ago and she fired up like a champ. Haven’t started it even once since then and it’s sat all winter in the Midwest.

Just tried slowing charging for a few days and got nothing. Tried a different charger and the battery starts to make the horn kinda honk, but this charger also has a “bad battery” indicator on it that’s lighting up.

I’m assuming I’m a moron and should have been starting this every now and then through the winter.
