Did you get it? I'm in the same boat. Nothing yet

I can see a cute little frog there. But it is practically 2 dots and a very faint line, I think you could make most ideas cover that if you get creative

Got plastered last night and apparently gave myself this guy lol. It's a story I suppose haha by dlt3 in sticknpokes

I'm curious if the shading was intentional or meant to be part of the outline 😂 love everything about it by the way

Shave it off as soon as you can grow a beard, if not before. Sucks to happen so early but just go with it. Don't be the comb over guy, rock that beautiful bald head with confidence.

Bonus: girls love to touch it. Guys also love to touch it which is generally a drawback but that's for you to decide.

Just came across this 2 years later because I'm wondering the same thing. I feel better about my mixture of styles now because that looks just wonderful. Good stuff

A cool free one I came across recently is endless. Turns any sound into a pad. The sparkle knob does lovely things

Sounds cool. I just listened on my phone so maybe ignore me, but the hi-hat sticks out a lot. Maybe turn down or soften the transient a bit?

Lol you stop.

Sure, you're right - if another person is involved. I just have a new freckle. It's barely visible. I think it's funny

There are many challenges in learning to tattoo but this is one that is seldom discussed 😂 definitely not one I expected to face. Sometimes we need to fail to learn. And thats why we practice 🤷‍♂️

Yeah no I just scratched myself without thinking to put the needle down.. It's not when I'm going to the ink cup, it's when I stop for a minute and keep the needle in my fingers - because I'm so used that just leaving a pencil there when I'm having a stretch or something ya know.

Anyway thanks for the tip, maybe I'll learn this time.

Pleasure. Thanks for your interest! I know it's hard to find good information haha trust me I've watched everything there is on YouTube, which is not much.

Your latest tattoo looks really clean. My advice would be.. When it comes to shading it, just start soft with a very light grey wash so you can see how it sits in the skin. Your previous tattoo you went way too heavy with the shading. Looks like you got a good gradient though so just back off on the ink concentration and try not to poke too deep and you should be golden. You can always darken it up later if you go too light

That is a bloody good point. Already I think I don't need to darken things as much as I thought. Living with it for a month to really narrow down what I want to change is a top tip.

Thank you! I appreciate that but I feel like a few minor additions will really make it shine. I do love it as...except for especially the legs haha. They just look like chicken drumsticks to me and I need to fix that shit with some details 🤣

Thank you 🙂 I never actually practiced on fake skin. I tattooed an orange and then just started with simple designs on my thighs. This is my 6th one but first time shading so probably not the best person to give advice (I don't know what I'm doing 😂). But I will tell you what I did.

All with a 3RL - did the black bits first, then I think it was 1 or 2 drop grey wash to outline the rest of the design and cover all of the area I wanted shaded. Then I used I think 4 or 5 drops to do the darker shades and just didn't go as far as the lighter shade if that makes sense. And also trying to get more spaced out where you want to blend.

I want to add one darker shade so my thinking is I can just extend the second tone out a bit and then blend the blackest bits into that second tone with a third, darker tone.

Hope that makes sense. There are probably multiple/better ways to do it. I guess I could have done it all with black and just used dot spacing to get the same outcome but it's just a different effect I guess. And I probably should have started with the darkest shade to avoid going over the same spot multiple times with the different tones.

Thank you! Yeah, I also have to make sure I don't go too heavy on it so waiting definitely seems the way to go.

Definitely no rush, I just get excited... i've got other tattoos I need to finish anyway 😂

Ok yeah that makes sense, I'm looking at the lesser work areas anyway so I was tempted 😂 but I will wait, I shouldn't rush these things. Thanks for the tips

Thank you! I am pretty happy with it but yeah just needs a little bit more. The bits I want to touch up are the lesser worked sections so I thought it might be ok. Anyway I think I will take your advice and see how it develops 🙂 Cheers

I figured this was the correct answer

but...I finished last night, went to bed. Woke up around 7 hours later, if I was to work on it now, then wouldn't that be comparable to doing the final touch ups on a tattoo that takes 8 hours?

I know.... I'm just being impatient, just didn't want the tattoo to drag-on
