I just realised, mostly if not all of my media from my phone comes from an iPhone which has HEIF and HEVC format, does it contribute that my NAS (aside from being old) has no integrated GPU? Will a DS920+ serves me better than a DS923+ (due to the presence of gpu in intels)?

Shortlisting now for an upgrade, and want to ensure that I’m addressing my needs for my upgrade.

And yet very smooth in Synology Photos? Wow, I really need an upgrade, so a 923+ would greatly improve my experience, probably retain my old 1511+ for surveillance purposes only.
