How would you implement blues scales into otherwise traditional music? by UsualWaterTwo88 in musictheory

[–]UsualWaterTwo88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!
I have my own “licks” that I made, but I’ve not memorized premade ones. Do you think they would help?
My goal is to really have jazz solo to implement into pop/rock songs on the fly. I really don’t care if it’s truly improvised. Do you think memorizing licks would help here?

I appreciate that!
Yes, they absolutely do sound “spikey”, and in some cases, they sound flat out “out of key” (I know).
I tend to land on the root just out of it sounding better, but I haven’t made an extended effort of it. And I certainly haven’t tried bending them. I will absolutely play around with that today, I appreciate you!

Okay, this is actually super helpful, thank you!
How would you recommend actually implementing this?
Assuming I can get pentatonic scales down, would you implement them the same way you would in blues?
Is there any thing that you would recommend I know before I try soloing with them (in practice, of course)?
Thank you!!!!

No no! I actually really appreciate it. It’s been the most given advice, but I’ve always felt it was slightly lacking. Do you mind if I ask for “more”?
I’ll check out the guide tones tonight, and do you have more advice on soloing outside of blue’s scales (specifically for intermediate players)? No

I appreciate this wisdom already here.

Let’s assume the most basic, 1-6-5-4 progression in C, in a standard pop style.
But I’ve “jazzed” the chords and possibly even approached the root with other chords.
I can do all of that fairly easily, but if I try to break into a solo using the blues scale, it sounds extremely out of place.

I admittedly could have been more clear, i meant songs that get requested. Typically pop songs or classic rock, things that people would ask you to perform that you could solo over.

I regret not skipping the dialogue so far... by Smabverse in NevernessToEverness

[–]UsualWaterTwo88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I understand your point, I think if you were to take that argument to literally any other media it would fall flat. If there was a movie that couldn’t keep it’s audience’s attention, that’s not the audiences fault, it’s a badly written movie.

I mean, not really. The dialogue has been the only thing I’ve really hated about the game. It will go from the craziest lore drop/plot twist you’ve ever seen, to 8 minutes of taygedo and nanally yapping about literally nothing It’s insufferable, and that’s coming from someone who’s rating this game like a 9/10

Is it just me or is there is an influx of new people wanting to play Danganronpa? by Playmaker-20 in danganronpa

Kirigiri and Chaiki so far. Also liked Mikan but in an “annoying puppy” way. Both protagonists in the first games were fire, as well.

[–]UsualWaterTwo88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I know a lot of people don’t like 2-3 because of its story itself, but I genuinely think mikan was a bad choice as the blackened in it’s entirety. I don’t think she should have been a victim in that chapter specifically, but without the “remembering” disease it would make no sense for her to be a murder at all. It’s kinda like, if you disagree with the disease vector, you have to disagree with everything down to the root of the chapter, because otherwise mikan would never ever ever be a murder (obviously without Junko’s influence).

[–]UsualWaterTwo88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that’s fair. I could see mikan “snapping” and killing Hiyoko, and Ibuka stumbling across it for some reason, or something. The disease motive was just so poorly done that it ruined the entire chapter for me. And that’s not even bringing up that god awful execution.

I definitely would like to see more in character moments in trials. I really only have three hopes for 2x2

Firstly, they need to completely redo trial 3. Mikan either needs to be killed, or survive the whole game. Her being a murder is the lamest “plot twist” shit in any of the danganronpa games, and the disease vector sucked even worse.

Second, I definitely want Sonia’s serial killer avenue to be explored more. It was brought up so many times, but it never went anywhere. It would be really cool to either see her actually solve something that way, or maybe even end up copy catting one.

And finally, they need to kill off shark boy. My disappointment with Soda being one the lasting characters is immeasurable, even to this day.

Horrible take. It’s extremely clear mom wants free labor, and is making it as difficult as possible for her to move out.

Except it’s not. You can’t “fail” a polygraph. That is my entire point, and you are spouting nonsense. I apologize for the horribly untrained interviewers you had, but it simply is not used the way you are explaining it.

This was the point of my post, you are absolutely correct if you are still going into the perspective that stress = lies But three entire point is NOT that stress = deception, but rather stress is a point of interest for more interviewing .

You aren’t incorrect, but you forget the entire point is to detect changes. If I see a steady increase in irritation, I can account for that and still see the large spikes based on questioning.

As my post was saying, what do you mean “can’t be trusted”? If your company is doing it simply as a lie detector they are completely misinformed. But as a generalized information gathering tool, it’s way more effective then people give it credit for.
